Ever since the mouse became a pointing device, one of the more common problems was locating the mouse's cursor on the screen if you didn't already know where it was. So, you wiggle the mouse around hoping to see a wiggling thing somewhere out of the corner of your eye, and eventually, ah, there it is. That's a bit annoying, but is not frustrating. What is frustrating is when you are watching a demonstration and the presenter is moving his mouse all around the screen explaining this or that, and you can't follow what he is saying because you do not know where the mouse is. Opera released Opera Version 10 final on Tuesday as scheduled, and I've been wringing it out all week in production use. As expected, the final release is a solid performing piece of work which is no surprise at all since Opera 10 has been stable and reliable since the first public alpha releases I began using last spring. It's been a year-and-a-half since I reviewed Elgato's Turbo.264 video conversion accelerator, and a lot has happened since then. The most obvious, judging from the title of Elgato's new Turbo.264 HD Video Encoder & Accelerator is the worldwide love shown for high definition video. The kids these days are all about their high def cable and their high def camcorders and their high def leopard (as in Snow Leopard), and Elgato's not about to be left behind.

If you have InDesign CS4 and either want to do more with the application, or want to get started, Real World Adobe InDesign CS4 is a great place to start. Using realistic examples and clear explanations, just about all of InDesign's powers are revealed to the user. It's a fair bet that many owners of InDesign received that application as part of purchasing one of Adobe's Suites and are not all that sure about what to do with it. You can't just open InDesign and start typing. Since InDesign (ID)is a page layout application, it doesn't know "where" you want to type. Thus, if you are completely unfamiliar with ID, you can't even start using it. So, from the willing beginner to the intermediate and the experienced users, this book is a welcome asset.

Styles are certainly not exclusive to InDesign, they can be found in just about every word processing and page layout program there is. But I'd be hard pressed to find any as deep and complex as with InDesign. Michael apparently feels the same, and, as such, has devoted this entire book to styles. I am a big fan and admirer of the Michael. His ability to break processes down to their instrumental layers and to explain clearly what's taking place is found in all too few instructors.

Still not a terribly exciting browser, but version 3.5 brings a slate of enhancements, improvements, and refinement with some new features, more speed and improved memory management to this solid and reliable Web workhorse
