Modbook manufacturer Axiotron today announced that Autodesk SketchBook Express 2009 will now be exclusively available on the Modbook, Axiotron's pen-based Mac tablet computer. A full version of SketchBook Express will come pre-installed at no additional charge as part of the Modbook's basic software package.

The Modbook is an award-winning slate tablet computer that lets users draw and write directly on the screen. It seamlessly blends an Apple MacBook computer, a state-of-the-art Wacom Penabled digitizer and Axiotron's own hardware and software technology.

We think Modbook users will find that SketchBook Express helps to increase their creative productivity.

With the addition of SketchBook Express, the Modbook becomes a full-featured, all-in-one mobile sketchpad. Artists, creative professionals and general users now get a sophisticated yet user-friendly sketching and drawing application whenever they start up their Modbook.

"SketchBook Express is specifically designed for pen-based input and is the perfect sketching tool, so it's a great fit for the Modbook platform," said Chris Cheung, Product Manager of SketchBook Express at Autodesk. "We think Modbook users will find that SketchBook Express helps to increase their creative productivity."

SketchBook Express has most of the features of Autodesk's popular SketchBook Pro application. This includes SketchBook Pro's intuitive, gesture-based user interface that lets artists get to work immediately. SketchBook Express almost feels tailor-made for the Modbook's slate form factor and pen-input technology, and the application's one-flick tools work fluidly on the Modbook's ForceGlass etched screen that simulates paper.

"We're pleased to partner with Autodesk to offer new customers and existing Modbook owners a really helpful drawing and sketching tool," said Axiotron CEO Andreas E. Haas.

Beginning immediately SketchBook Express is being made available on all new Modbooks, including Modbooks built using Axiotron Modservice. Modservice enables customers to convert their existing non-aluminum Intel Core 2 Duo-based Apple MacBook computer into an Axiotron Modbook.
