New iPhone Home-finder App Could Have Consequences For The Struggling Newspaper Industry

BusinessWeek's Prashant Gopal reports:

Newspapers across the country are in turmoil as advertising revenue continues to flood out of print and onto the Web. Classified advertisements, especially the real estate listings that papers have long depended on, have shifted to Craigslist and other free Web sites.

A new home-finder application for the iPhone that I wrote about this week could be something else for publishers to worry about....

Networks fingered for iPhone 3G problems

PC Pro reports:

Connection problems with 3G iPhones may have nothing to do with the device itself, but are instead down to the quality - or otherwise - of carrier networks.

Two studies, one in Sweden and the other in the US, indicate that reports of dropped calls and poor performance cannot be blamed on the Apple smartphone. The Swedish study by the Bluetest, a testing specialist, found that the iPhone’s 3G performance is comparable with similar phones from other manufacturers.
