Charles Moore Checks Out Clipper 1.0, Free Mac OS X Multiple Clipboard History App. •Hot Topics •Reviews •Utilities Reviews •Comments •Tell-a-Friend There have been a variety of Mac OS multiple clipboard solutions over the years, both built into applications (eg: Nisus Writer Classic) and freestanding. Some of them have been quite powerful, but a shortcoming that's generally made me find them less than practically useful is the level of complexity they add. Clipper, on the other hand is a tiny, simple Mac OS X clipboard history application. All it does is sit on your menu bar and saves stuff you copy to the clipboard, which you can select retrieve with a mouse click. ![]() The developer says: "Back in 2003 when I bought my first Mac - a shiny new iBook - I got an itch. Before switching I had become accustom to a brilliant little KDE app called Klipper. All Klipper did was to keep a history of stuff you'd copied. Nothing more, nothing less. The project was a success. Clipper works exactly as described. It's all I want in a Clipboard history manager, and I will actually use it. It's also free. Cool. Clipper's Preferences are also admirably straightforward. ![]() Any complaints? Well, it would be nice if there was a cache so the Clipboard history didn't get deleted in a reboot, but then that would no doubt make the program bigger and more complex. System requirements: Mac OS X 10.4 or later. System Support: PPC/Intel Free For more information, visit: http://www.omh.cc/2008/mar/15/clipper-mac-os-x-clipboard-history-manager/ Charles W.
