AOL is back for Mac. AOL is reaffirming its commitment to Mac users with the beta release of a brand new, all-in-one web software, now available for download: AOL Desktop for Mac. The best part, this free new software was developed by Mac users, for Mac users, from the ground up. Your Mac makes your life easy. Make it even easier with the new AOL Desktop for Mac. The beta test for AOL Desktop for Mac may introduce changes to the underlying software and is not recommended for mission critical situations. Please review Beta 101 on AOL Beta Central for information on what is involved with being a beta tester.
Highlights include:
- Speed: Installs in seconds and launches fast - so you can begin browsing immediately, without signing in.
- Tabbed Organization: Tabs on browser and IM give you easy access and an uncluttered, organized view for all of your windows.

New in version 1.0b7:
AOL Desktop for Mac Beta 7 is now using a new database structure for e-mail that will provide new features and performance optimizations. To enable the new mail store, all Beta 6 users' mail stores will be replaced by the new mail store. This will require users who imported mail to perform the process again. The updated mail store will also delete any mail stored locally (e.g., mail in the "On My Mac" folder). This does not affect mail stored on AOL mail servers.
