Man Handler 2.0 - Man Pages With Style •News •Software News •Comments •Tell-a-Friend Press Release Edited By Applelinks Contributing Editor Charles W. Moore Unix, in all its flavors, is a beautiful thing. It's so darned versatile. But there's a lot to learn if you want to use it well, and viewing man pages in Terminal is...well..not a beautiful thing. Enter Man Handler. Now you can view man pages with a nice, simple Mac user interface without a lot of hassle. Just enter the term you are curious about, hit the "Get page" button and there it is. And with the built-in services of OS X, you can make the text a sticky note, have your Mac read it aloud, email to someone, and a lot more. Man Handler puts a familiar Mac face on unix man pages, giving you the complete text of the manual page in a window, where you can scroll, select portions, and use any of the Mac OS X services. Even better, you can save those man page entries for later viewing without having to do another search. And the source code is included so you can take a crack at writing your own document-based AppleScript Studio application. New in version 2.0: Revised window and font for better printing Better print handling. New icons that adhere to Aqua Human Interface Guidelines Currently PPC only, but Universal is on the way. System requirements: This application was developed in 10.4 (Tiger). The current version is PowerPC only, but a Universal binary is in the works.
