WorldSync, Inc., leading provider of tools for synchronization between FileMaker Pro databases, today announced it received an Issuance from the U.S. Patent Office for "Database Management and Synchronization Across a Peer-to-peer Network" – U.S. Patent Number 6892210. WorldSync's intellectual property included in this patent represents a cornerstone of its SyncDeK technology.
The protection granted by the U.S. Patent Office covers SyncDeK's bi-directional asynchronous data replication technique for database management and synchronization implemented across a peer-to-peer computer network. Within a sharing community, database record changes are synchronized by storing change information in a synchronization object, which is transmitted by a local-user computer at any time to a routing agent, which in turn transmits the synchronization object at any time to a remote-user computer within the sharing community, and the synchronization object is then used by that remote-user computer to update database records. The complete description can be found at www.uspto.gov.
"We're pleased to have patent protection for SyncDeK's bi-directional asynchronous data replication, and independent recognition of our innovative approach to any time, anywhere data," explained Jason Erickson, founder and CEO of WorldSync, Inc. "With SyncDeK, consultants and developers can create modern solutions for today's mobile working communities. Our recently announced SyncDeK 6 significantly simplifies the development process, furthering our quest for providing trustworthy and powerful data replication for the rest of us."
SyncDeK provides the technology to deliver solutions that distribute data to mobile workers, remote users, multiple sites, and customers and prospects all over the globe. SyncDeK revolutionizes data synchronization and replication with cost-effective, powerful technology that is elegantly simple for users, and now easier than ever to set up and administer.
At the FileMaker Developers Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, WorldSync announced their new SyncDeK 6. Streamlined for easier installation and configuration, SyncDeK 6 offers JDBC support, direct synchronization for FileMaker Server Advanced, enhanced Version Update Manager (VUM) supporting automatic version updates, and much more. SyncDeK 6 introduces an option for developers to provide centralized synchronization in SyncDeK-enabled solutions using the new SyncDeK Server. SyncDeK 6 also provides enhancements to its original email protocol-based, decentralized data distribution method covered in the patent.
The streamlined installation and configuration process for SyncDeK 6 requires significantly less expertise and effort than ever before. Now, installation with SyncDeK 6 involves the addition of four required fields, the creation of a single FileMaker account with xDBC access, and the addition of a single SyncDeK database file that designates a table occurrence for each table to be synchronized. Additional information, including a fully functional evaluation of SyncDeK 6, can be found at www.worldsync.com.
