WorldSync highlights SyncDek at WWDC

859

WorldSync, Inc. today began conducting live, hands-on demonstrations of its new SyncDeK® Engines and SyncDeK Developer Kit, providing developers an interactive experience with synchronizing FileMaker® databases. Armed with its new products, this event represents the company's first ever exhibit at an Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. Currently shipping only on Mac OS X®, with Windows® in beta, SyncDeK Developer Kit simplifies the incorporation of SyncDeK technology into solutions and runtime apps. Available on Mac OS X and Windows, the SyncDeK Engines power bi-directional asynchronous data replication for data in FileMaker databases that are either persistently connected to the Internet or used offline.

"SyncDeK brings the mobile data revolution to any business, enterprise workgroup or any collaborative community," explained Jason Erickson, founder and CEO of WorldSync, Inc. "SyncDeK's powerful data replication for FileMaker solutions drives collaboration inclusive of remote and mobile co-workers in a way that just feels natural, whether they're persistently connected or synchronizing when they get to their hotel. The ability to make changes to the database offline, securely replicate those changes and resolve field-level conflicts, previously required expensive scripted solutions and enterprise systems. Now, SyncDeK provides data replication 'for the rest of us.' "

Jason Erickson will also be showing SyncDeK in FileMaker's booth today between 2:00pm and 3:30pm. Mr. Erickson will demonstrate syncing a FileMaker Pro 7 database. Mr. Erickson will also make himself available directly following the demonstration to answer any questions from developers or attending press.

In addition, Eric Jungemann of InfoMatrix, a 20-year veteran of enterprise development, will present a cutting-edge case study addressing the growth of the nimble app in enterprise deployments during the "Database Solutions for Mac OS X" session. Mr. Jungemann will discuss the use of FileMaker and SyncDeK to address a medical industry client's complex and demanding needs. Mr. Jungemann's case study covers the use of SyncDeK to connect remote workers, plus the solution's recent, rapid migration to the advanced, new FileMaker Server 7 and FileMaker Pro 7. "Database Solutions for Mac OS X" will be held in the Pacific Heights room, on Friday July 2, 2004 at 10:30 am.

SyncDeK 5.0 is a powerful application and plug-in combination that together provides the synchronization of specified fields between distributed FileMaker databases based on configurable rules, using commonly available Internet protocols. Designed for use by remote sites and mobile workers, often working offline, SyncDeK combines the power of Java-based background services with the flexibility of standard Internet communication protocols to synchronize XML data. Highly configurable and scalable, replication applies to individual data fields or entire FileMaker database files across client/client, client/server or server/server solutions. Conflict resolution is performed according to configurable business rules. SyncDeK is configured, tested, deployed and maintained using the new SyncDeK Developer Kit.
