This is the most ambitious World Book edition by far, lots of new and improved features, and more multimedia content than ever before.
World Book Trivia Challenge
Test and improve your knowledge with our new World Book Trivia Challenge game. It covers a wide variety of topics from history and literature to sports and space exploration allowing you to match your wits against World Book and maybe discover something new along the way. If you get stuck, a "Look It Up" button takes you to the answer.
New Just Listening Multimedia Player
Now you can experience true multimedia with coordinated sights and sounds from World Book's music and photo collections. You'll see scenes from Copenhagen while listening to the Danish national anthem, or Carnival in Rio de Janeiro while listening to the beat of Brazilian street music.
World Book media on your iPod
World Book's rich media collection can now go where you go on your iPod. Export all the sounds, video clips and animations in World Book: from volcanoes erupting and sailfish jumping, to presidents giving speeches and bees making honey. If it's in there, you can play it on your iPod.
Improved Article
Updates area Using the Article Updates area is easier than ever, now that you can sort the updates chronologically (by month) or alphabetically. And you can hide the expanded text of the Article Updates and view only the titles to make the list more convenient to browse.
Enhanced Screen Saver
By popular request, we've made it possible to display titles for the pictures floating by on the 2007 World Book screen saver.
Thousands of new articles and photographs.
There are more than 4,000 new and updated articles in 2007, from Bird Flu to Generation X and Charlize Theron, as well as lots of great new photographs, videos clips, and more!
Enhanced Notepad
Need to write a composition containing 200 words or less? No more need to count the words one by one - just use the new Statistics option of the Notepad word processor and you'll instantly see the number of pages, words, or characters in your document. There's also a handy new Font Drawer that displays WYSIWYG font faces - making it a snap to find just the right look for your documents.
