Robochan has announced an update to its popular list manager application for the Macintosh. New in this update are searchable tags for items, meta-links to tabs or other lists, and a ListzWidget for Apple's Dashboard.
The new "Meta-links" empower users to forge complex relationships between their items, lists, and tabs. "We wanted to give users a powerful way to organize their data, like an information 'hub'. With Meta-links they can now create lists that function as an index, table of contents, or summary list with content spread out amongst dozens of other lists," said Denise Eatherly, co-founder.
The Global View provides a top-down look at all the lists, tabs, and items in a user's set. Using the Simple Filter function a user can quickly locate text amongst thousands of sources and still have perspective on its location within the data-set. This "view from 20,000 feet" is presented as an outline view that can be opened or collapsed to the desired level of detail.
Also new in this release is a one-click Burn to Disc feature. "Many of our users have huge lists where they store critical personal and business information. We felt like it was very important to give them a quick, reliable way to backup that data offline," said co-founder Chris Livingston.
With the opening of the new "goodies" page on their website, Robochan offers two free styles for users who prefer a more traditional Apple appearance. The goodies page also hosts additional category sets for free download:

Listz 1.1 is a Universal Binary that runs under Mac OSX 10.4 on both Power PC and Intel architectures. It will also run under Mac OSX 10.3.9 on PowerPC processors.

MailWidget 2.0.3
MailWidget checks your email account every time Dashboard is activated — without having Apple Mail running all the time. So far there is nothing special but, unlike other widgets, MailWidget knows which email was received by Apple Mail. Thats especially helpful for those who dont delete their old mail from the mail server immediately in order to be able to read their last mail on travels via webmail.
Other widgets might say something like "there are 88 messages on the mail server" but only MailWidget will tell if there are new emails that hadnt already been received by Apple Mail.
New in version 2.0.3:
• fixed problem where some Apple Mail accounts were not recognized (thanks to Jef Geeraerts)
• fixed problem with secure POP login. if it fails MailWidget falls back to plain login (thanks to Manuel António Vitorino)
• fixed problem where MailWidget reported the wrong count on some POP servers (thanks to Jerry Lofquist)
• if periodic check is activated, MailWidget will instanly check after startup instead after the period

Widget-to-Desktop 2.0
Widget-to-Desktop is an Automator action that allows you to run Dashboard widgets right on your desktop. Once installed, you move a widget around in Dashboard and hold the F12 key. It will spawn it on your desktop.
You can actually do this with some tricky key combination within Dashboard, but this makes it simple.
New in version 2.0:
• Changed corrupt script that didn't let the app start.
