Temperature Monitor Widget Edition is the Dashboard version of its "bigger brother" Temperature Monitor. It is recommended that you use Temperature Monitor first before using the widget edition to learn more about the sensor equipment of your computer. The applications are designed to give you access to all temperature sensor readings Mac OS X uses to monitor and cool your computer.
The widget allows you to select two of your computer's temperature sensors which should be displayed via Dashboard.
Unlike other widgets, Temperature Monitor is capable of processing the hardware calibration data Apple stores individually into each G5-based computer. So it displays the exact readings Mac OS X internally uses for cooling control, not just an "educated guess".
Temperature Monitor Widget Edition is the small gratis version of the application Hardware Monitor Widget Edition. Hardware Monitor is capable of displaying "non-temperature" sensors additionally. Temperature Monitor Widget Edition is part of a software suite of 9 different monitoring applications which can be used for numerous purposes.

With the release of Apple Macintosh OS X10.4, Apple released the Dashboard. The Dashboard allows you to use mini applications called widgets. These widgets allow you to see information such as the date and time, or the running value of stocks that the user can setup. They also can be games or just about anything that developers can come up with. The Dashboard makes it very handy to easily access these widgets and the type of data or information that the user wants to look at. The problem with the Dashboard is that the number of widgets that can viewed on the screen at one time is limited to the amount of viewable screen space that the user has. Mt. St. Helens VolcanoCam Widget 2.2.2
More than just a simple webcam, this widget displays a half-size static image from the Mount St. Helens Volcanocam, as well as the current volcano Alert Level as assigned by the US Geological Survey. The Alert Level is not available on the volcanocam site, but the widget displays both the image and the Alert Level in a single, easy to access place. The VolcanoCam image and the Alert Level automatically updates approximately every five minutes.
As always, the Volcanocam button below the image will take you to the official website in your default web browser. In the same way, the Alert Level button takes you to the USGS site for an explanation of the Alert Level.
New since version 2.1 is automatic version checking. If a newer version has been released, the Volcanocam button will change colors and caption to let you know. In that case the button will take you to this site instead of the Volcanocam site.
The current version is 2.2.2, please download the latest version if your current version is older.
