Counting Sheep 1.1

Counting Sheep is a sleep timer for Mac OS X Tiger’s Dashboard that lets you listen to music or watch a movie while you're already in bed (or leaving the house, but prefer to do so with the approriate music playing). You just enter how many hours, minutes and seconds shall pass before the Mac shuts down and press start. If you change your mind, you can of course stop the countdown later, don't worry.

The widget is actually pretty simple and also pretty simplistic. It's also – so I hope – kind of self-explanatory: three input fields, for hours, minutes and seconds, one start button, one stop/halt button and one button to reset the whole thing.Counting Sheep now also has a back side, were you can choose whether you want your computer to shut down or to go to sleep mode aswell.Make sure to save all your documents before starting Counting Sheep, because applications asking about what to do with unsaved files will prevent your Mac from shutting down.

New in version 1.1
• Several usability improvements (i.e. the enter button now starts the countdown; cursor automatically jumps to the next field when two digits have been entered; …)
• Option to choose between sleep mode and shutdown on the (newly introduced) back of the widget
• Moved to Dashcode for development and easier testing (and bloated file size)

System requirements:
Mac OS X 10.4 or later

ML Baseball Widget 1.2

All the information you need about the MLB in one single and small widget. Show the current scoreboard, full results from previous days, the schedule for the upcoming week, or current division and wildcard standings. For ongoing or past games, show the score overview and current game situation while having a convenient link to the full box score only a click away.

Widget Usage

Per default, the widget will display today's scoreboard, giving you a quick overview of all games of the day. Games show the current (or final) score or game start time (for your local time zone). Winning teams' names are highlighted on the scoreboard to more easily them.

- Select your favorite team on the widget's back to have games and current place in standings highlighted. The widget will also show your favorite team's logo in the background of the widget's front.

- Click on 'Standings' on the top right to select a division or wild card race to display - switch back to the scoreboard by clicking on 'Scoreboard' on the top left.

- When displaying the score board, use the arrows next to the date at the top to go back or forward in history - clicking either the date or the 'Scoreboard' text will reload the current score board.

- Pointing the mouse over any ongoing or finished game in the score board will display a little popup with the current (or final) game standings (you can select to not show those popups on the back of the widget). Note that the popup might not appear immediately as the widget has to download the latest information first. The popup will disappear after five seconds or when you mouse the mouse over it. Double-click on any game (ongoing or finished) to go to the full box score page on the MLB website (note that game information will not be available for a little while just after the game has finished).

- Teams already eliminated from the title or wild card race are shown in red in the standings

- The current day's scoreboard will automatically refresh once a minute, standings once every 30 minutes, or when the Dashboard is first displayed.

New in version 2.0:

New features:
• Add support for Triple-A scoreboard and standings - you can now select either MLB or AAA on the back of the widget (remember that you can have multiple instances of the widget so you can follow both at the same time).

Improvements/bug fixes:
• Show "Middle" or "End" of inning in both, the scoreboard and game details display, when appropriate.
• Switch to a different server for the data source - the new server uses a load-balancing setup and should be faster.

Amnesty Hypercube 0.1a Moves Google Gadgets and Other Web Widgets to Desktop

Amnesty Hypercube Moves Google Gadgets and Other Web Widgets To The Desktop

Mesa Dynamics has announced today the alpha preview release of Amnesty Hypercube, a free desktop widget platform designed to release Google Gadgets and other web widgets (such as Flash games and video) from the confines of the browser.

A web widget is a mini-application, often deployed as an HTML code snippet, intended for insertion into blogs, homepages and social networking profile pages. Amnesty Hypercube converts these web widgets into standalone desktop widgets that live outside the browser. Amnesty Hypercube also can be used to extend Apple's Dashboard widget library by allowing its converted widgets to be pushed into Dashboard with one click.

In order to simplify the widget discovery process, Amnesty Hypercube features an extensive directory of over 150 web widget providers that can be explored from inside the application. In addition, Amnesty Hypercube easily imports any web widget from these providers with its "NoClick" technology, which automatically creates a desktop widget when HTML code is copied to the clipboard.

The alpha preview of Amnesty Hypercube for OS X is immediately available for download at ( http://www.amnestywidgets.com ) and requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later. The alpha preview of Amnesty Hypercube for Windows XP and Vista will be available in August 2007.

PNGpong 1.0 PNG Color Corrector

PNG is a wonderful file format that suffers from an unfortunate gamma problem (details here). PNGpong alleviates this issue by stripping the color "correction" information out of the file using pngcrush. PNGpong then attempts to further compress the PNG file by running it through optipng (I say "attempts" because some PNG's may already be as compressed as possible).

Simply drop one or more PNG files onto PNGpong and it'll take care of the rest.

By default, PNGpong will create a new optimized file with "_PONGED" on the end of the filename. If you would like, there is a preference to overwrite the original file instead.

Mac OS X 10.4.3 or later.
