MiniBatteryStatus 2.5

MiniBatteryStatus is a small Dashboard widget that monitors battery status, charge percentage and remaining battery life. Integrated with Growl to alert you when it's time to recharge your battery.

Monitor battery status with style

MiniBatteryStatus widget monitors battery status and charge percentage. It displays colorful information to quickly notice your battery conditions.

The widget assumes different colors depending on the remaining charge of the battery. It is also aware of battery charging and plugged status. User can choose if the widget should display percentage, remaining time, capacity (current/maximum) and cycle count or just the charge gauge.

MiniBatteryStatus is definitely a must have for all Tiger-powered iBooks and PowerBooks out there. And since MiniBatteryStatus is a Universal Binary application, you can even run it on your brand new MacBook Pro.

Features

• Growl integration. Be aware of what happens to your battery even when you’re not looking at Dashboard. MiniBatteryStatus tells you when it’s time to recharge your battery and when you’re done charging by Growl notifications.
• Universal Binary. You can run MiniBatteryStatus on both PowerPC iBooks and Powerbooks and Intel MacBook Pro’s.
• Lots of colors. Widget color varies with continuity from green to red. Enjoy a plenty of awesome nuances from acid green to coral red.
• Smaller widget size to save Dashboard real estate. iBooks and powerbooks have limited desktop surface. Leave room to other cumbersome widgets, still monitoring your battery with style and no clutter.

New in version 2.5:
• Rewritten from the ground up.
• Completely event driven: the widget updates upon power source changes.
• Added Growl notifications for power source changes.
• Improved version checking.

System requirements:
Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

System support:
PPC/Intel

Temperature Monitor Widget 1.8

Temperature Monitor Widget Edition is the Dashboard version of its "bigger brother" Temperature Monitor. It is recommended that you use Temperature Monitor first before using the widget edition to learn more about the sensor equipment of your computer. The applications are designed to give you access to all temperature sensor readings Mac OS X uses to monitor and cool your computer.

The widget allows you to select two of your computer's temperature sensors which should be displayed via Dashboard.

Unlike other widgets, Temperature Monitor is capable of processing the hardware calibration data Apple stores individually into each G5-based computer. So it displays the exact readings Mac OS X internally uses for cooling control, not just an "educated guess".

Temperature Monitor Widget Edition is the small gratis version of the application Hardware Monitor Widget Edition. Hardware Monitor is capable of displaying "non-temperature" sensors additionally. Temperature Monitor Widget Edition is part of a software suite of 9 different monitoring applications which can be used for numerous purposes.

Temperature Monitor Widget Edition is electronically distributed software. You can download the product free of charge.

New in version 1.8:
• Added support for the Apple Mac Pro.
• The widget can now detect if a processing core of an Intel processor was shut down by the user, so the digital thermal sensors of that core no longer update their values. The sensor display of the affected core will switch to the usual "disconnected sensor" reading after some time.

System requirements:
Mac OS X 10.4.2 or later

System Support:
PPC/Intel

Free

eCheck 0.9

eCheck is a dashboard widget that regularly checks multiple protocol email accounts for unread messages. It does this independently and thus does not rely on any other program. Email checking is supported for the following:

• AOL
• Gmail
• Hotmail
• IMAP
• .Mac
• POP
• POP SSL
• Yahoo

The account name, type and number of unread messages is displayed on the front of the widget, together with the total number of unread messages. On the reverse of the widget account settings and software activation is managed.

A Registration Code is required to activate eCheck; this can be obtained either by registering for a 7 day evaluation trial code or by purchasing a licence at a cost of £3.50 (payment is received solely via PayPal). This is a nominal charge in light of the countless weeks that have been spent developing this widget, so please don't steal/hack/crack my code. Any funds obtained will go towards paying off my overdraft; one of the joys of being a penniless student.

System requirements:
Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

PPC

Image Shackle 1.0

Quickly and easily scale images with Image Shackle. Drag an image onto the widget and it is scaled to the desired size that you type in or select with a slider.

About Image Shackle

• Click and hold on an image from the desktop or finder and then press F12 (or F8 on some iBooks) on the keyboard to reveal your dashboard. Drag and drop the image into Image Shackle.
• The proportions are always kept. The slider will allow you to scale the image to whole numbers, but if you want an exact height or width you can type it in.
• Check the preference on the back to convert shackled images to JPG. When converting an image with transparency (PNG, GIF or PSD) into a JPEG the transparent areas will be turned to white
• Your shackled image will be placed in the same folder as the original but ".shkl" will be added before the extention. This makes it easier to find them later. The size of the image will also be added to the filename.
• The widget also serves as a tool for calculating ratios and constraining proportions for images that you don't want to scale with the widget.*
• Image Shackle is only designed to work with one image at a time.
• The following file types are supported and must have the proper extension: JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PSD (they will be flattened), PNG, PICT, BMP
• If you try to shackle an image from iPhoto, the file will be saved to the folder that the original was in but will not be imported into iPhoto. Instead, export the image from iPhoto at the desired size, or drag the image from iPhoto to the desktop before shackling it.

(*) This widget replaces and adds functionality to the old Ratio Shackle widget.

New in version 1.0:
• Replaces and maintains all functionality of the old Ratio Shackle widget

System requirements:
Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
