NOAA Weather Center 1.0.1
The NOAA Weather Center widget is a new, powerful, and fun way to get all the weather information you need. Just enter your address, city, or zip code and you get instant access to forecasts, current conditions, animated radar, and important weather alert bulletins. All of the data comes straight from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Weather Service.
New in version 1.0.1:
Enhancements:
Add temperature to current conditions globe
Make search box and county menu reflect chosen location
Add check for latest version
Fixes:
Add secondary (backup) radar data source
County menu doesnÕt reset properly
Gets stuck on location search in some cases
Incorrect low temps on globes
Handle no low temp in day 7
Exception handling when county not found
System requirements:
The NOAA Weather Center widget requires a computer running Mac OS X 10.4.7 or greater. This is because of the use of Quartz Composer for large parts of the presentation layer. A graphics card that supports Quartz Extreme is required (for the most part this excludes ATI Rage graphics cards, and any PCI graphics cards). A computer with a Core Image capable graphics card is highly recommended. This widget has been tested successfully on a MacBook CoreDuo (1.83GHz) and an iBook G4 (800MHz).

TheGoogleMap 1.0
Search the World with TheGoogleMap - The legend of a Map is now here for the Dashboard. Go to a location - Find a business - Get directions - Getting from point A to point B just got a lot easier. TheGoogleMap Widget shows you where you want to go.
Maps are great for getting around, but online maps could be a lot better. So Google decided to make dynamic, interactive maps that are draggable Ñ no clicking and waiting for graphics to reload each time you want to view the adjacent parts of a map. Want to be able to type in the name of a region or neighborhood and see any part of it as easily as with a regular street map? Now you can with TheGoogleMap.
Since these maps are draggable, you can use your mouse or the directional arrows to pan left, right, up and down to see areas that are hidden offscreen. You can also use the slider to zoom in and zoom out. ItÕs like having a huge map you can scroll around in.
Use TheGoogleMap to search within an area or neighborhood. It works like this: Say you want to find free wifi hotspots. Type in Òfree wifiÓ and the zip code, and the free hotspots appear at various locations on your map, with phone numbers for each location appearing on the left side of the page. Click on the link for a location and it gives you the name, address and phone number that goes with it, with links offering you directions to and from it.
If you are looking at an area on the map and want to locate a business, say a pizza place, in that area - just enter ÒpizzaÓ in the search box and we will search around the center of the map - you donÕt need to enter a location. How much ÒMapÓ do you want ? TheGoogleMap has arrived for the Dashboard!

WordGuise 4.0.1 Universal
WordGuise is a REALbasic plugin that defines a text editor widget for windows and macintosh. It is also an RTF control, supporting most if not all of the gadgets an RTF document provides and it allows embedding of picture objects in the text. The WordGuise widget also provides support for Waste documents, because it sits on top of the well known Waste library. On windows wordguise exploits RichEdit and implements interfaces allowing picture embedding.
The WordGuise class inherits from a WordGuiseContainer control. The plugin allows creation of a WordGuise instance in code (on-the-fly), in addition to a default RB behavior, i.e., WordGuise is a typical control. An instance can be created by dragging the WordGuiseContainer on the window and then setting the super to WordGuise. Embedding can be done in a window, a panel or a RectControl of your choice. WordGuise can also be modified to act as a StaticText field, while you can set it to have focus, enable drag and drop or select its caption. WordGuise on the Mac can be extended to WordGuiseEx. This will allow usage of the new Waste 3.0 engine in MacOSX/Mach-O. When using WordGuiseEx, make sure to remove WordGuise plugin from the Plugins folder at the root of the REALbasic application, and vice versa, when using
WordGuise do not put WordGuiseEx in the Plugins folder. WordGuiseEx has a different dylib (Mach-O) but otherwise is identical to WordGuise when it comes to MacOS PEF (OSX,classic) and Windows. Note that the WordGuise package comes with sample projects, while the WordGuiseEx package only contains the plugin. Further, if you purchase WordGuiseEx, you will need a license for WordGuise (which also includes all other plugins listed on this site) as well.
New in version 4.0.1:
[adjustment]: MacOS PEF and Windows Ruler: moved the tab widgets of the ruler to the correct upper edge of the matrix ruler.
[fix]: MacOSX ruler: tracking the ruler has been adjusted to allow placement of the ruler (and WordGuise) anywhere in the window, not only at the window origin. Matches the behavior of the PEF and windows targets.
fix]: MacOSX ruler: drawing the ruler does not draw outside the WordGuise widget, occurred when WordGuise is used in a pane away from the left and right boundaries of the window.
[fix]: Windows ruler: hanging and firstline indicators now do the right thing [still a work in progress], and may involve breaking of current code...
[fix]: Windows ruler: ruler is now updated when the horizontal scrollbar is used.
[fix]: WordGuiseEx: the keyboard input that fired the keydown event twice, just before and after the key was displayed, has been adjusted.
[fix]: WordGuiseEx on composited window: command key combinations dealing with arrow keys are not being filtered out anymore.
[adjustment]: MacOS: WordGuise.ParagraphPosAtXY will always return the paragraph range at the xy position, irrespective of additional constrains.
System requirements:
REALbasic 5.5 or later.

MiniBatteryStatus Widget 2.6.2
MiniBatteryStatus is a small Dashboard widget that monitors battery status, charge percentage and remaining battery life. Integrated with Growl to alert you when it's time to recharge your battery.
Monitor battery status with style
MiniBatteryStatus widget monitors battery status and charge percentage. It displays colorful information to quickly notice your battery conditions.
The widget assumes different colors depending on the remaining charge of the battery. It is also aware of battery charging and plugged status. User can choose if the widget should display percentage, remaining time, capacity (current/maximum) and cycle count or just the charge gauge.
MiniBatteryStatus is definitely a must have for all Tiger-powered iBooks and PowerBooks out there! And since MiniBatteryStatus is a Universal Binary application, you can even run it on your brand new MacBook Pro!
Features
Growl integration. Be aware of what happens to your battery even when youre not looking at Dashboard. MiniBatteryStatus tells you when its time to recharge your battery, when youre done charging and when the power source has changed with Growl notifications.
Universal Binary. You can run MiniBatteryStatus on both PowerPC iBooks and Powerbooks and Intel MacBooks and MacBook Pros.
Lots of colors. Thanks to the revolutionary arcoiris engine, the widget color varies with continuity from green to red. Enjoy a plenty of awesome nuances from acid green to coral red.
Small widget size to save Dashboard real estate. iBooks and powerbooks have limited desktop surface. Leave room to other cumbersome widgets, still monitoring your battery with style and no clutter.
Rewritten from ground up. Completely event driven. Same data from the system status item, instantaneous notifications.
[new in 2.6] Share battery data. The included battery data sharing daemon will make your battery remotely monitorable by MiniBatteryLogger.
Minimum system requirements are Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" or later, and of course a battery-powered Macintosh. Suggestions for improvements are more than welcome. VelaClock 2.0
More than a clock! Displays the current level of natural light (daylight, twilight, or night), sun and moon rise/set times, moon phase information, local times and country flags for cities throughout the world. VelaClock takes advantage of the Dashboard feature in Apple's Mac OS X version 10.4 "Tiger".
No internet connection required. VelaClock is a unique widget in that it is completely self-contained. Many widgets are light weight front-ends to web services; such widgets require an internet connection. By contrast, VelaClock is designed to function without an internet connection, and so is particularly useful for laptop users away from their home or office. Astronomical calculations are performed by an internal code module.
What's new in VelaClock Deluxe 2.0:
Change current date: to change date, click the new calendar icon in the bottom right corner of the front of the widget. Changing the current date allows one to see sun, moon and time zone info for dates in the past or future.
User-defined places: to add a user-defined place, click on the "Edit User-Defined Places" button on the back of the widget; this will launch a small utility application to specify city, country, time zone and a latitude/longitude point. Imports from, then shares user-defined places with VelaTerra 1.2
New in VelaClock 2.0 (standard and deluxe):
Added flags and places for: Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Montenegro and Serbia. These changes correspond to new ISO country codes.
Regarding 2007 Daylight Saving Time:
VelaClock supports the new 2007 Daylight Saving Time rules. VelaClock uses its own set of time zone and Daylight Saving Time rules (separate from Mac OS X). To ensure that your Mac is able to display the correct time please refer to "About Daylight Saving Time changes in 2007" from Apple's support website: http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n305056
VelaClock Light Level
The light level bar displays 24 hours of natural light (bright daylight, three levels of twilight, and night) for the current day.
The horizontal white bar indicates when the moon is visible.
Daylight duration and the change in minutes of daylight from the previous day are displayed below the Light Level bar.
VelaClock Rise/Set Times
For the current day, VelaClock displays times for sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset and the begin/end of each kind of twilight for the selected city.
VelaClock Moon Phases
VelaClock displays an image of the moon as seen in the sky above the currently selected city. This image accurately depicts the angle at which the moon's crescent appears to be rotated from the vertical. Because this angle can change dramatically within the span of an hour, it is updated once a minute. The boundary of the illuminated region of the moon is also updated every minute, resulting in accurate depiction of the moon's phase. The name of the current moon phase is provided, as well as local times for the next and previous phase events (new, quarter, full).
VelaClock Time
An analog clock that conveys day, night or twilight, the season, the local date and time as well as time zone information are displayed for the selected city. The relative time shows the number of hours the selected city is ahead or behind the current time zone set in System Preferences.
VelaClock Basic View
When no cities are selected, the information view collapses and is hidden.
The digital time format can be toggled between 12-hour and 24-hour by clicking on the digital time boxes.
VelaClock Backside
Cities can be added, removed and reordered on the backside of the widget.

Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
