"This latest version of WebEx PCNow gives iPhone users the ability to wirelessly access their desktop PC from anywhere, at any time," said Jack Chawla, senior director of product management, WebEx. "We're delighted to be able to utilize the innovations in iPhone to enable seamless access to desktop files, email and tools 24/7."
WebEx PCNow is the first remote access solution to support both PC-to-PC and phone-to-PC access. Through a partnership with mobile technology provider SoonR, it enables iPhone users the ability to access their desktop for search, Microsoft Outlook contacts, calendar, email and multiple types of documents. Content is optimized for viewing and designed to deliver the same experience as working on the desktop computer. There is no software to download; users simply navigate iPhone's Safari web browser to access their desktop.
WebEx PCNow includes the following mobile access capabilities:
-- Mobile File Access - Access and view files, photos, and documents
stored on your remote computer from any mobile phone. Quickly email or
share documents and pictures on the go. View slideshows and share
comments with other users.
-- Mobile Desktop Search - Use popular desktop search tools such as
Google, and Windows to quickly find documents, emails, images and
contacts stored on the desktop PC. Easily forward files from search
results to colleagues and friends.
-- Mobile Skype VoIP - Use SkypeOut to call contacts even on mobile
devices that are not supported by the Skype mobile client.
-- Mobile Outlook Integration - Read, reply, forward or delete emails and
have your changes automatically updated on the Outlook on your
computer. Create emails or appointments, and access contacts.
PCNow is available today for $11.95 per month for two PCs. Later this year, WebEx PCNow will offer native support for Mac OS X desktops. For more information or to sign up for a free 30-day trial, visit:
