781 upCast is a solution to convert Word/RTF documents to XML and XHTML with style information in CSS2, written in Java. Also included are XML validation and XSLT transformation services for setting up complete workflows. downCast is a solution to convert XML documents to Word/RTF using CSS-based stylesheets written in Java. upCast enables you to use Microsoft Word as an authoring application for XML documents. Take advantage of the widespread availability and familiar user interface of Word or any other RTF savvy office application for structured document authoring. upCast offers a cost-effective way to reuse existing tools for gaining all the benefits of a standardized markup language: XML.
downCast converts XML documents valid according to the upCast DTD (and, in fact, any XML document whose DTD can be mapped into the upCast DTD) linked with an external stylesheet to Word and Rich Text Format (RTF) for editing and printing. Combine it with upCast, and you have a combo that offers a unique, streamlined, roundtrip-capable and integrated XML editing and publishing solution based ï¿/ among others ï¿/ on the open standards XML, XLink, XSLT and CSS2.
