Time of Mac - New on MacOpinion
Unless you've been in the dark for the past few years, you know that Apple is on a roll. More than a roll: they are steamrolling past all competition, including Microsoft's monopoly. Apple's the king of digital media, has made an impressive entrance into cellular phones, and Apple's Macintosh computers are selling in greater numbers every quarter. Apple was already hugely profitable and with higher and higher sales and accelerating growth, the future looks incredible.
While a marketshare in the 10% range was once considered an ambitious goal for Apple, I don't see any reason, with the momentum Apple has, that Apple shouldn't hope for far more: 20%, 30%, even 50% of the market within a decade or two.
Now for the long-time Mac user -- and I'm talking about fans from the 1980s -- this is surreal. Almost every week now I read a post from some Windows user who has just switched to the Mac and is loving it. These new Mac fans are so enthusiastic it's almost embarrassing. Like most long-term Mac fans, my reaction is a, "Yeah? Haven't we been telling you this for twenty years?"
