Press release edited by Applelinks senior editor Kirk Hiner
The Postal Dude spent five unforgettable days raging through the streets of Paradise, Arizona during the now-legendary POSTAL 2 series in both the original entry and the multi-player add-on, Share the Pain. Running With Scissors now cuts loose the next chapter in his bitter, disaffected sagaApocalypse Weekendwhich details the Dude's thermonuclear activities during the 48 hours following his original week-long rampage. A single-player expansion pack, Apocalypse Weekend offers over 20 new areas of Paradise to decimate, 10 original missions to execute with extreme prejudice and an array of "cutting edge" weaponry that would make Kill Bill's Bride salivate.
Running With Scissors president and industry iconoclast Vince Desi promises fans of POSTAL 2 that the new implements of destruction will make their inner-survivalist weep like a little girl. "Believe me, we were determined to give the fans even more than they expected," he vowed. "Gamers will no longer be limited to merely blasting, burning and blowing up enemiesthey can now hack them down to cubesteak!" New weapons include the soon-to-be notorious Sledgehammer and the Scythe, which sports even more hands-on appeal than anyone really deserves. "But my personal favorite," Vince admits, "is the Boomerang Machete. Yes, you heard right. Boomerang. Machete. Just line up those Mad-Cow Tourettes ZombiesTM and cut right through the crap! Just watch your fingers when it comes back!"
In addition to new non-player characters such as the MC Zombies, old favorites including Gary Coleman, herds of insane elephants and the lovely Postal Babes are also on hand for a wild weekend with the Postal Dude. And you'll want to think twice before abusing any cats this time around, don't say you weren't warned. Also included is the actual game editor used by the developers which allows users to produce original game scenarios and create their own outrageous MODs for POSTAL 2.
Although Apocalypse Weekend is not Mac compatible right out of the box, Running With Scissors told Applelinks that Mac users will be able to purchase the PC version and then download a Macintosh installer from their website.
