Susteen, Inc., a leader in data communications and mobile computing solutions, today announced that a Universal version of its DataPilot for Mac application will launch in mid-March 2006. This new Universal version adds significant speed and functionality to the current 2.0 version of DataPilot for Mac.
"Mac users are an important part of Susteen's customer base, and we're committed to making the industry's leading cell phone synchronization software that supports the largest number of cellular handsets," said Rich Sootkoos, Executive Vice President of Susteen. "This new version of DataPilot for Mac will enable our users to take full advantage of the faster Intel-based Macs."
"We're thrilled to have Susteen's DataPilot join the rapidly growing number of Universal applications that take full advantage of the innovation and elegance of the new Intel-based Macs," said Ron Okamoto, Apple's Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations. "The combination of the new Intel-based Macs, Mac OS X version 10.4 'Tiger,' iCal, iPhoto and Quicktime gives DataPilot users an unparalleled solution for cell phone synchronization."
DataPilot for Mac is an extension of Susteen's award-winning DataPilot software suite and it supports the most popular handsets in the market in only one kit, including all the necessary cables for data transfer. Users can just plug the corresponding phone connector into the computer and start transferring data right away. There is no need for users to buy a new cable if upgrading to a new phone -- simply connect to more phones with a different cable connection. Susteen's DataPilot products are revolutionary tools that assist in the free transfer of ringtones and pictures between the user's computer and over 300 of the most popular cell phone models in the market, bypassing any carrier fees or restrictions.
DataPilot for Mac allows users to back up contact information in case of loss or damage to the handset. Users can stay in sync with the Address Book contacts and iCal appointments and use the cell phone as a wireless modem and check emails on the go. Users can also upload & download ring tones, pictures, and movies free via data cables and edit them using Apple's iPhoto and QuickTime Pro applications.
DataPilot Universal Kit for Mac will ship at major retailers, including Fry's Electronics, selected Best Buy stores, Apple stores and others through Tessco Technologies for $99.95. It includes six phone connectors and one PC connector. Users can also buy just the software portion of the product on the Susteen web site http://www.susteen.com for $49.95.
In conjunction, Susteen will be regularly updating the MyDataPilot.com website http://my.datapilot.com with more content and capabilities so cell phone and Mac users can easily back up and restore their cellular phonebook and iCal appointments and download a wide variety of ringtones and wallpapers to personalize their handsets.
