ScrapX 1.3.5 Released [OS 10.2 up]
ScrapX is a multi-media scrapbook built for Mac OS X. It stores, displays, organizes, and dispenses content that is in text, image, movie and sound formats. Supported types include: animated GIF, BMP, GIF, HTML, JPEG, PDF, PICT, PNG, RTF, RTFD, TIFF, URL, plain text, movie, sound, and (classic) sound resource. Place content in ScrapX via the Clipboard using copy and paste or drag-and-drop, or drop clippings or files in supported formats onto a scrapbook. When content is dragged from Safari, the URL of the content (if there is one) and the URL and title of the web page are captured, and the URLs can be easily opened from ScrapX. Display, re-order, search and sort scrapbook items. To dispense content, copy and paste or drag-and-drop to a document, export to a file, or create a clipping. ScrapX will open Classic and ScrapIt scrapbooks.
ScrapX 1.3 is localized in English and French. Individual, Family, Multiple, and Educational Licenses available.
Possible Uses:
Import the content you have compiled in classic scrapbooks and continue to use it in Mac OS X.
Organize content that you use frequently: paragraphs for form letters, signatures, images, and graphics (headers and signatures) for faxes.
Create Internet scrapbooks with visual web page bookmarks. When an image is dropped from Safari the title and URL of the web page and the link URL (if any) are captured.
Store content related to particular projects: emails, web URLs, news stories, cartoons, music, digital photos, etc.
Store and display statements and confirmations in PDF format that you receive from your bank or brokerage. When running under Panther even PDF content can be searched.
Gather and organize project materials. Use the new slideshow feature to test alternative orders of presenting materials, then copy and paste or drag-and-drop content to word processing, image editing, and other applications to publish it.
With ScrapX 1.3.5 "promised files" are inserted into the scrapbook when images are dragged from Safari or other web browsers, and duplicate and redundant types are automatically stripped from new items. As a result, the sizes of items created by dragging from a web browser are reduced significantly.
Other ScrapX 1.3.5 enhancements include:
The ability to export an item by holding down the "option" key as you drag it to the Finder.
"Quick Memo Find, which allows "on-the-fly" searches of the Memo field.
A progress indicator for insertion of files.
The ability to drag one or more images from iPhoto to a scrapbook.
Automatic creation of Memos from the content of text items.
Speed improvements resulting from elimination of memory leaks.
Development of version 1.3.6 is underway. This update will make it much simpler to open scrapbook content in apps where it can be modified. The new option-drag capability in v1.3.5 is a step in this direction, but v1.3.6 will be even better.
In addition, ScrapX 1.3.5 fixes a bug with searching PDF content and a bug with auto-saving when a PDF was the current item.

Konfabulator 1.8.1 JavaScript Runtime Engine To Run Widget Files [OS 10.2 up]
Konfabulator is a JavaScript runtime engine for Mac OS X that lets you run little files called Widgets that can do pretty much whatever you want them to. Widgets can be alarm clocks, calculators, can tell you your AirPort signal strength, will fetch the latest stock quotes for your preferred symbols, and even give your current local weather.
What sets Konfabulator apart from other scripting applications is that it takes full advantage of Apple's Quartz rendering. This allows Widgets to blend fluidly into your desktop without the constraints of traditional window borders. Toss in some sliding and fading, and these little guys are right at home in Mac OS X.
The format for these Widgets is completely open and easy to learn so creating your own Widgets is an extremely easy task.
For the "skinning" crowd, Konfabulator is a dream come true. You can easily change the look, feel, layout, even functionality of a Widget so that it matches your lifestyle, your desktop, or the pants or skirt you have on that day.
New in this version:
Reduced our memory footprint in Task Manager.
Upgraded the URL object to support POSTing, outputting to a file and returning the HTTP response code (see the Release Notes).
Made the Below window level stick to the desktop when choosing Show Desktop from the Task Bar.
We now react properly to monitor configuration changes and move widgets appropriately. We also remember where they were per screen config.
We now store our unzipped widgets in the local app data folder, not the system's temporary folder. This avoids the problems people experience when running temp file cleaners, essentially wiping out all the support files for a running widget.
Fixed problem where click-through was not working. This meant you had to click twice if a widget was not already active.
Redid CPU monitoring code to avoid issues with performance counters. It should work on all machines now.
Attempted to solve the occasional spontaneous unregistering issue. If you do become unregistered after installing this release, enter your registration again. We have an alternate solution in place, so if you re-register, it will do it a bit differently and will hopefully be permanent.
Added automatic check for updates, with ability to 'skip' a version.
System requirements:
Mac OS X 10.2 or higher
Konfabulator is $25.00 shareware

Pinch ol' Santa Perennial Favorite Game For The Christmas Season [OS X 10.1 up]
Pinch ol' Santa 2 is a small Christmas game made by SwordLord - the coding crew. It is Christmas Eve and the time is nearing 9 o' clock in the evening. There can only be seconds until Santa starts to deliver his parcels to the chimneys of your town.
You look through your window, out of your room at the roofs of a town somewhere in Switzerland. As you admire the lamps and the scenery in general, you see Santa. And there he is, running across that roof on the left of your window.
Looking at Santa you get an idea: Maybe if you pinch him now, he will lose a parcel or two which you then can take for yourself. You open the window and start to Pinch ol' Santa.
New in this version:
New time factor, new graphics and now running on all major platforms.
System requirements:
OS X 10.1 or later
It runs fine on a G4 processors or a Pentium running at at least 1 GHz (and subsequent hardware). If you happen to have a G3 or a slower Pentium, Pinch ol' Santa 2 will behave a bit hesitant but runs nevertheless.
Good sound system is optional but definitely worth it.
Pinch ol' Santa is freeware

MacGhostView 3.1 General Purpose PostScript & PDF Previewer [OS 8.6 up]
MacGhostView is a general purpose Postscript and PDF previewer for the Macintosh and is based on ghostscript 7.05. If a Postscript document conforms to Adobe's Document Structuring Conventions, the pages of the document can be displayed in any order. The program includes installation and registration instructions.
Included with MacGhostView is macps2pdf, a Postscript to PDF converter based on ghostscript 8.00. Beginning with version 6.0 ghostscript is capable of embedding Type1 fonts in a PDF document, making it a viable alternative to Adobe's Distiller. Prior to 6.0 ghostscript could only convert Type1 fonts to bitmaps, resulting in PDF documents which displayed poorly in Acrobat Reader. Macps2pdf is really ghostscript 8.00 without any viewing capability. Experienced users of ghostscript can access the full conversion features of macps2pdf. Since most users will want to just convert Postscript to PDF and don't wish to learn the intricacies of ghostscript, I have made the ps to pdf conversion the default.
New in this version:
When the user clicks the zoom control the preview window is resized to be the smallest window that fits on the computer screen and displays as much of the document page as possible.
An obscure bug that could cause MacGhostView to crash has been fixed.
Product Requirements:
PPC
Mac OS 8.6 or higher with CarbonLib or
Mac OS X 10.0 or higher
MacGhostView is a large program and can require huge amounts of RAM if you want to preview documents in color and at high resolution.
MacGhostView is $20.00 shareware

SnapNDrag 1.5.1 Effortless Screen Capture [OS 10.2 up]
SnapNDrag lets you take a screenshot by just clicking a button and dragging the resulting screenshot off. For example, to email a screenshot, you would drag the screenshot from SnapNDrag to the Mail application. It is that simple. No hard-to-remember key combinations, no file conversion to deal with, no file dialog boxes to navigate, no temporary files to erase later on.
Supports PNG and TIFF for times when image quality cannot be compromised. Or use JPEG with adjustable quality for smaller file sizes.
SnapNDrag is a fully-functional freeware. If you like SnapNDrag, consider upgrading to SnapNDrag Pro for even more features:
Ability to scale down screenshots
Global hot keys for quick access
Option to turn off sponsor's message
New in this version:
Cross-hair for capture by Selection now works across multiple screens
Workaround an issue with EasyCrop not launching correctly when sending captured screen to it
Note that this version introduces a small and hopefully unobtrusive sponsor's message at the bottom of the window. SnapNDrag Pro users can turn this message off in the preferences.
System requirements:
Mac OS X 10.2 or higher
SnapNDrag is freeware
