Check Preference Files 1.3.1 Check Preference Files For Corruption [OS 10.2 up]

Building on a discussion at http://www.macintouch.com, this script will check your preference files (both in your user’s preference folder and the system’s preference folder) for corruption. If it finds corrupt files, it will list the files and allow you to reveal them in the Finder, move them to the trash, or open them in the application of your choice.

Notes:
• Deleting the preference file (.plist) of some applications may mean you will have to re-enter a registration code and/or preferences (such as server and network settings for Mail.app) for the deleted preference file’s application to work properly.
• You must have administrative permission to open many system preferences.

System requirements:
Mac OS X 10.2+

txt2pdf 7.2 Converter From Text To PDF

txt2pdf is a very flexible PERL5 program.  It allows you to convert all your old .TXT files into PDF format, and is flexible enough to run on any platform that supports PERL.  It can be used alone, or you can use it with other applications to convert your documents on the fly.

Most of your documents are text files. Usually, your reports from legacy applications, COBOL applications, DBs, ERP applications and datawarehouse are textual. txt2pdf allows you to take those old text files and turn them into PDF's using only PERL, which means you don't even need to pass the data through PostScript first.

You can run txt2pdf on any system that runs PERL, but it has been tested and is verified to work on many operating systems.

Here there are some of the things that you can achieve with txt2pdf:
• You can mark coloured (using PERL regular expressions) sentences in the produced PDF files.
• You can mark bold, italic and bold italic sentences in the produced PDFfiles.
• You can add page numbers on every page.
• You can add text at the beginning and at the end of every file.
• You can add a border to every page.
• Internet specific phrases such as http://... ftp://... mailto:...file:... ldap:... news:... will automatically be made into clickable URL's.
• You can create a link to a specific age within a PDF document just adding http://...pdfdocument#pdfmark
• Every word like MIME:... will automatically become a link that launches the correct application to open that file.
• You can use background and foreground layers.
• All predefined encoding (WinAnsiEncoding, MacRomanEncoding, MacExpertEncoding, PDFDocEncoding) supported by the PDF format and the Unix default are supported by txt2pdf.
• It's possible to run through txt2pdf infinitely (every configured second, sleep feature) on a specific directory (and also its recursive directories) moving the produced PDF to a specific directory, and the original text to a specific directory.
• txt2pdf supports STDIN and STDOUT.
• Support for Japanese fonts (HeiseiMin-W3-90ms-RKSJ-H and HeiseiKakuGo-W5-90ms-RKSJ-H) normal, italic, bold, bolditalic and Japanese paper formats (JISB4 and JISB5).

• A PE (Personal Edition) License is $39.

FoldersSynchronizer 3.4.7 Syncs & Backsup Files, Folders, Disks [OS 10.2.6 up]

FoldersSynchronizer is a utility for Macintosh (Classic and MacOSX Jaguar and Panther) which synchronizes and backs-up files, folders and disks. The user can choose one or more pairs of files/folders/disks and then they will be synchronized/backed-up exactly. FoldersSynchronizer is available also as lite version.

When synchronizing, the old files will be replaced with the newest files in both directions. The new files (new entries) will be copied in both directions, as well as new Folders. The old Folders will not be replaced entirely by the newer ones, as the Finder used to do, but their content will be updated with the newest files, the new files (new entries) and new Folders (new entries).
FoldersSynchronizer can execute incremental or exact synchronizations. The incremental synchronization (default) never deletes items from the folders. The exact synchronization deletes from a folder, all the items no longer existing in the specular folder.

When backing up, the destination folder will be upgraded with the newest files, the new files (new entries) and the new Folders (new entries) coming from the source folder; the source folder will be left untouched.

FoldersSynchronizer can execute incremental or exact backups. The incremental backup (default) never deletes items. The exact backup deletes from the destination folder, all the items no longer existing in the source folder, and it never deletes items nested inside the source folder.

FoldersSynchronizer Lite is the lite version) which synchronizes and backs-up files, folders and disks. The user can choose one or more pairs of files/folders/disks and then they will be synchronized/backed-up exactly. This lite version grants some feature less than the full version. It has the standard features one would expect from sync/backup software.

Some features:
• FS can backup the whole MacOS X boot disk and make it bootable.
• FS can sync/backup the deleted files/folders (Exact Sync feature and Exact Backup feature).
• FS allows creating, renaming, duplicating, deleting, editing of multiple Sessions in a single document.
• FS can execute in a single task, all the Sessions defined in the Session List.
• FS can assign to each session, different Settings, Multiple List, Timers, Exclude List, Filters, Conflicts.
• FS can create, save and open ?Sessions Files?.
• FS can execute a Session at the time you specify in the timer list.
• FS can execute multiple synchronizations/backup (up to 32 pairs of folders) specified by a single Session.
• FS can filter the documents to copy by FileName, Type, Creator, Creation and Modification Date and Kind.
• FS can exclude, from the sync or backup, the folders and files you specify in the Excluding item list.
• FS can copy invisible Files and Folders.
• FS can include/unlock the locked files, so it can delete/replace also the locked files.
• FS can resolve aliases and SYM links.
• FS can check whether both the files have been modified after the last Backup.
• FS can stop or skip or ask for further instruction, if an error occurs.
• FS can show the "Items to be copied" Preview List.
• FS can save/display short or detailed Log Files (always or only if an error occurred).
• FS can send the Log Text via Email to a custom email address (always or only if an error occurred).
• FS can work with root privileges, even if the user is not the root (it asks for the root password).
• FS works properly on Long file names, Unix permissions, Multiple forks, Forks > 2GBytes, SYM links and GMT Date/Time.
• FS allows drag and drop of source and destination folders/files.
• FS can work in background (multithreading).
• Registered copies have no limit to the amount of files/bytes to be copied. FS uses a buffer memory when copying each file. Never needing additional memory, it can quickly copy GBs and GBs of data.

New in this version:
• As requested, now FS at the end of a backup of the whole boot disk, will bless the destination backup disk. This way, just after the backup, the user will be able to restart the machine (holding down the option key) and select the backup disk as boot disk, without the need to select that disk in the System Preferences as boot disk. Hovever, he can still select the boot disk in the System Preferences in order to "bless" the backup boot disk.
• As requested, now the Preview window shows the whole pathnames of the selected files.
• On the Preview window we added 4 buttons to reveal the select files in the Finder and to open the files with their applications.
• As requested, we added a control on the Set Filter window, so now the user cannot set an End time/date earlier than the Start date.
• Added the option "Delete the last Log files" to the FS "Preferences:Log" panel. The user can choose to delete all the Log files older than a given number of days, or to leave in the Log folder a fixed number of files (e.g. the last 3 Log files).
• Other minor improvements at the objects tooltips.

System requirements:
Mac OS X 10.2.6 or higher
