VitaminSEE 0.6.4 Fast Image Browser [OS 10.3 up}
VitaminSEE is an image viewer for OSX that focuses on interface responsiveness and speed. It has sorting features and the ability to add IPTC keywords to JPEG files. It generates thumbnails for all supported image files (these thumbnails are stored in the file's resource fork so the image file isn't modified and so the Finder will use them.
Features
VitaminSEE is quick. I've strived to make this the fastest image viewer available for the Mac.
VitaminSEE automatically thumbnails your images. These thumbnails are used not only by VitaminSEE, but also by the Finder.
VitaminSEE allows you to quickly organize your pictures into different directories with it's integrated Sort Manager.
VitaminSEE allows you to quickly tag your pictures with keywords.
New in this version:
You can now generate thumbnails, without storing them on disk. (The default behavior is to write thumbnails to disk.)
Massivly reduce RAM consumption when building thumbnails.
Bug fix: Program could get stuck on "Loading..." if computer was never named. (Kudos to "L S" for the bug report.)
Add three Automator actions. Most importantly, there are actions to add and remove thumbnails so if you have some sort of image moving workflow, you can have thumbnails generated then, and not when you start VitaminSEE up.
The Tiger GIF loader isn't as resiliant against broken animated GIFs as the Panther one was. Add a workaround that fixes *some* animated GIFs that work under Panther. These images will play slowly, but at least they'll play.

Mac OS X 10.3 or higher

Wx 2.54 Weather Conditions, Radar, Maps & Forecasts [OS 10.3 up}
Wx is a specialized internet weather station app for Mac OS X that downloads and processes weather information and forecasts for the United States. The software links to free XML and WML data on the internet from the US National Weather Service, and presents it in an attractive user-friendly interface. Wx 2.5 requires Mac OS X 10.3 or 10.4.
Wx can be configured to track weather conditions, watches/warnings/advisories, live RADAR, and forecast information for five locations, and it can download up to five weather maps or images. The information can be downloaded manually, or the software can be configured to download the information automatically, on a periodic basis. Current weather conditions are summarized in the app's dock icon and dock menu, and a floating "MiniWx" panel. An optional data logging feature records weather information to text files.
Wx has a transparent "tinted-glass" main window. There are seven tabs in the main window -- one for each of five tracked locations (these are called "tracks"), one containing a tab subview with five weather maps or images, and one containing preferences and configuration information. The main window is shown below with features illustrated. Wx also has an an auxiliary RADAR console window for viewing live RADAR animations.
Clicking on the RADAR image in any track will activate the RADAR console -- this loads a sequence of the last 10 RADAR images for the track into the RADAR console window, where they are animated at 620x620 resolution using a Java applet (normally, the NWS updates RADAR every 6-10 minutes). The animation can be started or paused by clicking on the radar image, and a scroller can be used to manually scan through the images. The RADAR console caches the last 10 RADAR images for each track, resulting in faster loads when RADAR is viewed frequently.
Wx will download up to five weather maps or images. Users can take advantage of this feature to monitor the big picture of weather locally or nationally. An example showing a national weather map from weather.com is given below:
Wx summarizes weather conditions using the app's dock icon and dock menu (activated by click+hold, ctrl-click, or right-mouse-click on the Wx dock icon). The user can choose various modes for displaying info in the dock.
New in this version:
added warnings/watches/advisories
shorter check intervals allowed (down to 6 minutes)
workaround for font smoothing issues in certain cases (app may double launch the first time to set a smoothing pref)
added MiniWx remote display panel with floating option

Baseball Statbook allows you to keep track of baseball or softball statistics. The program was originally developed to take the statistics from a little league game scorebook and enter them into an application so that overall hitting and pitching statistics could easily be generated.
Baseball Statbook could be used for Pony League baseball and softball as well as any other leagues (High School, Club Teams, etc).
If Baseball Statbook does not have enough features or stats, be sure to submit a feature request. Before doing so, make sure you check out the features that are planned in future updates.
Baseball Statbook runs on the following operating systems:
MacOS X
Mac OS 8 and 9
Windows (95, 98, 2000, NT)
Linux
This program is currently in zero-release stage but that only means more features are going to be added. The program, in its current state, has been tested over the last month and all known bugs and issues have been fixed.
With BBStatbook, you first have to manually add in team name and roster information. Once your roster is completely filled in, you will then start manually adding in game information.
As soon as one game is added, you can then view, print and save (as tab-delimited text) reports. Two reports are currently available with many more planned in the future:
1. Overall (season) batting statistics
2. Overall (season) pitching statistics
There are also options that allow you to add header and footer information to your reports.

Incomplete 1.0 searches iTunes for incomplete albums [OS 10.3 up}
So when I first imported all my CDs into iTunes, some of the tracks couldn't be ripped, and I meant to come back to them. Four years on, not only have I never bothered, but more tracks have been lost through one mishap or another. Alas iTunes doesn't provide any way to locate missing songs, and Google and Versiontracker didn't offer any help.
Incomplete, as well as being perhaps the first Mac utility named after a Backstreet Boys song, can scan your iTunes library for incomplete albums. In doing so it also picks up on other anomalies, which you may or may not agree are important, but you can easily ignore. It's free and you can download it here.
