LightWayText 4.1.6 Cross-platform, Multilingual Text Editor [OS X]

LightWayText is a hybrid, reliable, and powerful text editor for multilingual word processing, usable with both Macs and PCs. With LightWayText, you have high stability and all the power you expect from a full-featured word processing program. LightWayText-X fully complies with Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).

What is amazing about LightWayText is its speed, the flexibility and the expansibility. In LightWayText 4, we included all the word processor functions and various attractive new features which exceed the generally marketed word processor.

There are many ways to change the appearance of your document; besides styles, there are decoration lines, the ability to change all paragraph indents or margins, to paste in PICT or JPEG images, and to create spreadsheet-like tables. LightWayText can also provide many different layouts. With a variety of Custom papers including Notepaper and Greetings card, you can start your original pages easily. LightWayText 4.1.1 onwards also supports importing and exporting Rich Text Format files (RTF), Unicode format files (UTF8, UTF16), and has a spell checker.

LightWayText even allows you to do complex searches with the 'Regular Expression' or the 'SEd script'. Also, it provides many special menus and macro-functions to stimulate the creative mind of a professional. Besides, there are other useful little goodies to play with, including a scheduler for your day-to-day time management.

As you would expect from a 'Writer's Workshop', much of your editing can be left entirely to LightWayText. You will find that LightWayText is widely used, from programming to the writing of various documents !!

LightWayText is a Hybrid-shareware which can be used with both a Mac and a PC. It gives you almost the same operating environment on both computers as well, and it is compatible with each other's documents. If you often share documents between a Mac and a PC, put LightWayText in both for convenience. Just one LightWayText license will cover both versions.

In addition to being a normal editor, it provides various useful functions more powerfully than a generally marketed word processor.

LightWayText is used widely from programming to various writing work, including articles, special manuscripts, and every kind of document.
Usable with every country's language including English and Japanese. Besides, making it possible to enter 2-bytes languages such as Japanese etc..

LightWayText-X supports Unicodes (UTF8,16), including Japanese, European languages, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, and Turkish, also mathematical symbols, and includes a spell checker.

LightWayText has many roles as Editor, Word-Processor, and Writer's Workshop.
However, even a beginner can use it intuitively and easily, because all interfaces hold the concept of simplicity that was the 'Mac's Way' since the early days.
Also, it possesses many Customization and Macro functions that stimulate the creative minds of professional people.

Supports importing and exporting Rich Text Format (RTF) files, and allows creating a plain-text document to serve as your RSS code sheet. LightWayText-X is completely compatible with TextEdit in RTF too, and allows your texts with character formatting and even unicodes characters to share between TextEdit, using 'Drag & Drop' and 'Copy & Paste'.

System Requirements:

MEMORY

ImageBuddy OSX Version: No Memory Concerns

ImageBuddy Classic For OS9: At LEAST 40 MB of free RAM is required to run, but I suggest 80MB if you can afford it, virtural memory seems to work fine, but just degrades performance.

VIDEO MEMORY/MONITOR
Imagebuddy does not care how much video memory you have, since this will not affect the quality of the images you print.  It will only affect the quality at which your monitor can display the images. Any video card able to display 256, thousands, or millions of colors are fine.

DISK SPACE
Roughly 9MB of hard disk space is required to install the entire Imagebuddy package several more MB's are required for the printer driver to render the page. At Least 30MB Recommended.

SYSTEM SOFTWARE
Imagebuddy Classic has only been tested on System 8.5 to 9.2, but should work back to Mac OS 7.0. The OSX version requires v10.1 and above.

(*)Note: ImageBuddy v2.8 and above requires Quicktime v6 or greater!

PROCESSOR
Imagebuddy should work on any Mac with enough memory and hard drive space

A Cook's Books 0.9.9 Recipe Management Tool [OS 10.2.8 up]

A Cook's Books is a powerful and elegant recipe manager / nutritional reference tool created specifically for Macintosh OS X users.

• Add and edit recipes, and I don't just mean start typing. Unlike most cookbook software, A Cook's Books imports recipes from most major recipe programs, and some not so major. Here's a partial listing:
° Cookware Deluxe - as many recipes as you've got. Cookware Deluxe is a File Maker Pro based recipe manager
° Cook'n - The PC world's hottest new recipe program. NEW!!
° Computer Cuisine - as many recipes as you've got.Computer Cuisine is a File Maker Pro based computer cookbook
° MasterCook Mac and MasterCook PC - single or multiple recipe files.
° Meal Master Mac and Meal Master PC - single or multiple recipe files
° Mis en Place - Another File Maker Pro based recipe database
° Yum! - single or multiple recipe files (Mac)
° In fact you can import just about any File Maker based recipe, even home grown ones.
° I've also had several customers successfully import recipes from Excel.
° Alas, I can't get Mangia to import. The good news is someone has figured it out. Here's a link: <http://www.cobblers.net/blog/dev/mangia.html >
• View the nutritional analysis of your favorite recipes. NEW!!
• Check out just how bad you were, nutritionally. The entire USDA nutritional database (SR16) is now available as a reference tool. Want to know just how much saturated fat there is in a cup of "Cheese, Cream"? Just punch in the numbers and get your answer. (50.961 g...ouch!) Check out the picture below.
• Export recipes for your friends still using MasterCook Mac. Export functions are planned for MasterCook PC, Meal Master, Yum, Computer Cuisine, Cookware Deluxe, and other FMP based recipe programs.
• Clone recipes to speed up entering those recipes with a lot in common
• Set a font preference for printing.(Especially helpful to myoptic folks like me - I can make the font really BIG)
• Add a recipe picture so you know what the dish is supposed to look like. The recipe picture can be any resolution, can you say huge file, and any one of a number of types, JPEG, TIFF, PICT, etc.
• Find recipes by multiple ingredients, name, publication, author, and region.
• Find recipes by combining search items: ex: find Region - Italy and Ingredients Chicken and White wine
• Have a search criteria you find yourself constantly using? Save it in the QuickList.
• Scale recipes by amount. If the recipe has an entry for the number of servings, you can scale recipes by servings.
• Email recipes to your friends, neighbors, and countrymen.
• If the recipe isn't so hot...delete it. Got a bunch you don't like? Select as many as you like and delete them all. Of course, that makes the program nervous, so it does ask if you REALLY want to do that.
• Plan your food week with the planner. Select up to 4 individual recipes per weekday, and then...
• Create a shopping list that also shows the daily menu selections. The shopping list also includes ingredients from sub-recipes (as long as they're in the recipe database). If you scale recipes and then include them in the planner, the scaled amounts are included in the shopping list.
• Print recipes. This is the number one reason I wrote the program. No more smudging my expensive cookbooks. And, if you're cooking multiple things at once (can you say dinner party), print them all out and tape them up on the cupboards. What a life saver!
• How about some reference stuff?
° Roasting temperate and time charts
° Measurement cross-reference
• Am I done? I don't think so!! Here's some of what's planned.
° Add a nutrition database based on the USDA nutrition database - Done!
° Calculate nutrition values for individual foods by amount - Done!
° Calculate nutrition values for recipes by total recipe and by recipe serving - Done!
° Add a pantry - It's getting closer
° More reference stuff like, common (and not so common) substitutions, herb use reference, and cooking tips.
° Internet access to popular sites to search for specialty foods and equipment. - Done! (with more to come)
° Export recipes to some of those other programs so we can have fun with folks that don't use ACBK. (Say it ain't so!)
° Add more preferences to the Preference panel - A work in progress

New in this version:
This release continues the changes started to the Planner.

• The Planner now supports up to 4 weeks of recipes (with unlimited recipes per day!).
• You can now filter recipes directly from the Planner. Users can either use the Find function directly, or use the QuickList to restrict the recipes displayed in the Planner’s drop-down lists. This make finding recipes in the Planner much simpler.
• You can now scale recipes, by serving, right in the Planner.
• Fixed a problem where recipe ingredient quantities entered like “1/4 to 1â€?, caused a crash.
• Fixed a couple of issues in the nutrition calculation.

For more information, visit:
Mac OS X 10.2.8 or higher

• Fully functional demo for up to 10 recipes. Import recipes from MasterCook, Meal Master, Computer Cuisine, Cookware Deluxe, etc. Create huge cookbooks, though you can only view 10 of the recipes. Create multiple cookbooks. Add recipe pictures, scale recipes, email recipes, print recipes, create shopping lists. See just how much vitamin C really is in that orange juice. All in all check out just how easy and fun it is to manage recipes with a good recipe program.
• Since the program is still in beta, each release will be time limited. When time period lapses, just go get the new version and keep on cooking.
• If you like it, the final version price will be $20.00 US. If you buy prior to my releasing version 1.0, the price is $15.00 US.
• Buy it ONCE. All upgrades are free.
