Unsanity Releases Menu Master 1.1
Unsanity LLC has announced the release of Menu Master 1.1. The update brings Panther compatibility to the menu shortcut customization tool and other enhancements.
Menu Master is a haxie that allows you to change or remove menu shortcut keys in any application with ease. It takes about 15 seconds to learn how to use Menu Master, and saves you lots of time later because you can use the shortcuts you defined and do not bother remembering which ones the developer of the software invented for you. Additionally, you can set shortcuts to any menu item that had no shortcuts, or remove shortcuts from menu items. Menu Master gives you a complete control over your menus, all just for $10.
New in version 1.1
- Panther Compatible;
- Completely rewrote menu handling. This may break apps that used to work with Menu Master. This may fix apps that didn't. Old preferences are not carried over;
- Fixed a problem that would cause menu hilights to be drawn incorrectly when setting or deleting a shortcut;
- Fixed a slowdown that would occur if you tried to set more than a few shortcuts for an application at once or tried to use the arrow keys to move through menus;
- Much better handling of moving menu items;
Menu Master is priced at $10
Menu Master 1.1 is available at:

Auntie 1.2.1 BBC News Ticker [OS 10.2 up]
Auntie is a freeware BBC News ticker for MacOS X. It has no relationship to the (apparently no longer supported) MacOS 7 program of the same name, other than having the same function.
Many aspects of the ticker are configurable, including font, color, opacity and ticker speed. Clicking on a scrolling headline will take you to the associated web page. Headlines are also listed in a dock menu to jump to any one of them.
Auntie is provided free of charge because you really ought to pay attention to what's going on in the world.
New in this version:
Well, version 1.2 was sort of short-lived. It turns out that on Panther, if you use a floating-window style ('Utility Window') smaller window frame, the window will ALWAYS hide when the program is deactivated, whether you have that setting turned on or not internally.
System requirements:
Mac OS X 10.2 or higher

WinJack 1.1 Remotely Controls Windows From A Mac [OS X 10.1 up]
WinJack is a powerful remote control tool. It allows Mac OS X users to navigate through files and volumes on a Windows-based machine: delete, move, rename, remote open, cut/copy/paste, and show/hide them. The client can also send messages, create folders, open URLs, shutdown, restart, logout, or alert the Windows machine. It even allows screenshot taking and managing, picture and textfile opening, or picture and textfile sending, as well as process viewing and keyboard+mouse simulating. WinJack(client) also includes powerful logging capabilities and advanced user-notification sound capabilities. What makes WinJack(Server) even more powerful, is its ability to write itself into the Registry, so that it will automatically run on startup. An innovative feature of WinJack(Server), is that it can store the IP of its main client, to which it will always try to connect. Omicron Software Systems updates "ToDo X"
Omicron Software Systems has released an updated version of ToDo X, a dedicated to-do list application written in native Cocoa for Mac OS X.
Version 1.5 can import to-do items from iCal and other Mac or Windows applications that generate industry-standard ".ics" data files.
The release also addresses Panther compatibility issues and adds a number of user interface refinements, user-requested features, and a German UI translation by Magnus Rembold.
The 1.5 upgrade is free to registered users of earlier versions, and can be downloaded at:
http://www.nomicro.com/Products/ToDo/
This $15 shareware app supports multiple to-do lists and allows a to-do item to appear in more than one list. Each item can have unlimited attached notes, and items can be copied, linked or moved among lists via drag-and-drop.
With extensive use of keyboard shortcuts, the application wields considerable power while retaining a refined, minimalist interface. Users of earlier versions have proclaimed this to be "the best to-do application for Mac OS X"; version 1.4 rated 5 stars on VersionTracker and MacUpdate.
ToDo X can import to-do items from iCal and other Mac or Windows applications that generate industry-standard ".ics" data files. Users of the classic Mac OS desk accessory "ToDo!" (by Andrew Welch of Ambrosia Software) will be happy to hear that ToDo X can import from that venerable utility as well.
System requirements:
ToDo X requires Mac OS X version 10.1 or later
Full release notes are at:
