Redline - shareware racing game updated to v1.0.4

2606

Ambrosia Software, Inc. today announced the release of Redline 1.0.4. This update of the popular online racing game brings compatibility for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard WWDC Release along with many bug fixes and improvements.

That is Ambrosia's way, after all. Within a few weeks, I'm sure Redline 1.0.5 will be announced, bringing it in line with Mac OS X v10.6.

Redline is a racing game for Mac OS X. With its advanced 3D rendering engine and a physics engine that ensures each car has a distinct feel, Redline shows that running someone off of the road isn't just cathartic, it's downright fun. It would be even more fun, I'd think, if the person you're running off can be seen using a cell phone.

Gun the throttle, light up the tires, and hurtle down the track in any of the three racing modes Redline offers: the realistic Simulation mode, an aggressive Arcade mode, or kick it into high gear in the insanely intense Turbo Arcade mode. No matter what your pleasure, take your pick from numerous cars and tracks, and jump into a racing game that delivers adrenaline via digital injection.

Redline costs $25, requires Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later, and is a Universal Binary application.

Redline 1.0.4 updates (September 7, 2007):

  • Now compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard WWDC Release
  • Allows separate axes for gas and brake input, if the controlling device supports it
  • Allow plug-in cars to specify a custom model for the brake calipers
  • Various bug fixes and enhancements

Please note that clients older than 1.0.3 cannot join Redline 1.0.4 multiplayer games due to newer functionality, so Redline 1.0.4 is a highly recommended update

This update is free to all registered users, and there are two ways to download this new release. You can do so quickly using the auto updater from the game's main menu, or you can download the full archive as a disk image from the Redline product page.
