My initial impression, like many of the faithful, is to be slightly underwhelmed. But I have to remind myself that I'm only underwhelmed because this is Apple and my expectations were unrealistic and over-the-moon. In truth, I emphasize only being slightly underwhelmed, because though I hoped Steve would unveil something revolutionary, I did not genuinely expect it. I figured it would be too much for even Apple to release a new category of product so soon after the iPhone, though I don't doubt a new iTablet of some form will eventually come (it may be a year or two away).
Here's a little thought exercise for you: take any one of the products Steve introduced and pretend it wasn't Apple who announced it, but another company. Say it was Seagate who came out with Time Capsule or Sony who introduced such a thin laptop. Wouldn't you be damn impressed?

As a stock holder I am impressed with the cash flow potential based on the extension of the itunes model to movies.
I don’t understand the Air Mac, and its positioning in-between the low and high end MacBooks. The design is elegant, and should appeal to image conscious people with money. If it had an optical drive and the solid state memory “disk” with accompanying high battery life (no power drain from spinning disk drives), I would expect it to be positioned above the MacBook Pro in terms of pricing.
Without the optical drive, the hassle factor is higher, and without the solid state “disk”, it seems destined to cannibalize sales from both ends of the MacBook lineup.
An update to the form factor on the towers is long overdue. I expect to see it this year, so I would delay buying a new tower at this time.
