Quark Inc. has today Quark Interactive Designer 1.02, an updated version of Quark Interactive Designer that is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Quark Interactive Designer allows designers using QuarkXPress to create Flash (SWF) layouts for the Web without having to code. The release of Quark Interactive Designer 1.02 follows the November 2007 release of QuarkXPress 7.31, a maintenance release of the professional design software that is optimized for Mac OS X Leopard.

Quark Interactive Designer is an optional module for QuarkXPress 7 that extends the capabilities of QuarkXPress to allow designers to include motion, sound, and interactivity in their designs and to output SWF (Flash) files. This software combines the precision of the QuarkXPress 7 design tools with the power and flexibility of the SWF (Flash) format for the creation of projects with rich design and robust interactivity.

With Quark Interactive Designer, users can:

• Design and deliver without creative compromises
• Develop projects for print, Web, and Flash simultaneously
• Draw on existing design skills to bring layouts to life
• Use the same QuarkXPress tools available for print including transparency and image-manipulation features
• Collaborate with multiple designers on interactive and print projects
• Share design settings such as colors and typographic styles

Users must have QuarkXPress 7.02 or higher installed to use Quark Interactive Designer.
