Pangea celebrates 20th anniversary with The X Pack

Pangea Software, Inc., is celebrating its 20th anniversary by releasing The X Pack—a collection of every Macintosh title available for Mac OS X, including both games (of course) and utilities. If you missed Bugdom 2 and Otto Matic, here's your chance to redeem yourself.

Pangea Software was founded in December of 1987, making it the oldest Apple game developer still around. The X Pack was released to celebrate this 20th anniversary milestone, and includes Bugdom 2, Otto Matic, Enigmo, Runic, TabMeister, Enigmo 2, Billy Frontier, Cro-Mag Rally, Nanosaur 2, and Pangea Arcade.

All of these games would cost over $214 if purchased individually, but The X Pack is selling for only $79.95. This special bundle is available for download now on the Pangea Software website, and it will only be for sale through the end of December.

"We're very proud to have been a part of the Apple gaming scene for so many years," said Brian Greenstone, president of Pangea Software. "Like most software companies, Pangea Software was started in a dorm room at college, and I would have never imagined that twenty years later I'd still be at it. Thanks to some terrific encouragement and support from Apple in the early days, we were able to establish ourselves and create a lot of classic Mac games. Best of all, it has kept me from having to work in front of a PC, and I'm happy to say I haven't even touched a PC in over eleven years!"

Would that we were all so lucky. Congratulations to Brian and everyone at Pangea, and congratulations to Mac gamers who get to take advantage of The X Pack. There's one less Christmas gift idea to worry about.
