TimeCache makes it quick and easy, so you can concentrate on the work. You enter time and expenses in a Daily Log that's like an electronic timesheet with super powers. It gives you many options, from entering everything manually to letting TimeCache time you as you work.

TimeCache works the way you do. Whether you're a mouse person or a keyboard person, TimeCache offers shortcuts for whatever you're most comfortable with. Auto-fill, popup lists and an optional quick-fill feature in the Daily Log make it easy to add new entries. If you work on a retainer basis with any of your clients, TimeCache offers powerful, but easy-to-use, tools for handling them.

Capture every detail. Don't you hate it when a client asks what took so long to do such-and-such? Especially when your invoice was prepared a month or more — and about a billion other issues dealt with — after the fact? TimeCache makes it simple to keep track of all the details of everything you do on an assignment — which can be very useful for more than just satisfying demanding clients.

New Detail tracking, introduced in TimeCache 8.0.4, gives you the option to record and selectively display as much information as you like.

Here are a few ways you might use the new Details feature:

  • Share with a group. If you work on group projects, you probably need to document changes to update others in the group. Record your changes as TimeCache Details as you go. Then when it's time to check in your work, copy your Details entries to the clipboard and paste them into a progress document (or as notes in a version control system), or save them to a separate file that you turn in with your work.

  • Improve your estimates. TimeCache notes help you produce accurate estimates when you're basing a bid on one or more similar projects you've already completed. You can be even more accurate with TimeCache Details. When you can look back at every step involved in producing a piece of work, you can more precisely guage the amount of work it'll take to do it again.

  • Descriptive notes. It's usually easier to jot down what you did right after you did it than after the fact. Use TimeCache Details to record every step of your work. Then you can add one or more entries directly to a descriptive note with the click of a mouse, or write a new note based on what you actually accomplished.

  • Keep a "paper trail". You never know when a client is going to ask exactly what you did on the project they're paying you so handomely for. Be prepared. Track every step of your work with TimeCache Details, and producing a convincing report is just a couple of mouse-clicks away if the client ever does ask.


TimeCache lets you post entries to Mac OS X's iCal application to get an overview of each day's activities at a glance. You can also input time entries from iCal. TimeCache also lets you exchange data with Mac OS X's Address Book application — you can bring client contact information in from Address Book or import clients from Address Book to TimeCache. TimeCache 8.0 offers improved integration with both Apple applications.

TimeCache also offers analysis charts that help you compare your time for different billing categories, different projects or different clients. See a pie chart or bar chart that graphically displays the different percentages of each. You can break it down by date ranges, and include the types of entries that give you the best possible idea of how you're spending your time.

TimeCache 8.0 also offers improved reports. Previews are improved, and reports offer more customization options. Now you can use any PDF file as a report background, making it easy to incorporate your organization's identity. The wide range of reports available lets you break down your time and expenses just about every way possible. And TimeCache 8.0 offers even finer control of the details. You can also export report data for use in other applications. New QuickReports make generating a common report format a snap.

TimeCache 8.0's powerful invoicing feature let you quickly create invoices for any or all of the projects you're working on for a client. You can add adjustments and record payments to keep a running list of payables. You can use customizable color coding to see at a glance any problems with aging payments. The new QuickInvoice feature lets you generate almost invoice instantly.

Need even more detail? TimeCache lets you track all your computer activity — saving a record of which applications and windows were active, exactly when. It's a great way to double-check your productivity, and figure out what's distracting you from getting your work done!
