Home Tidying Up analyzes all folders and sub-folders and classifies them according to four lists:
- duplicate files,
- biggest files,
- oldest files,
- image, movie and music files not in right folders,
- "others" files.
In each list, sorting is possible according to:
- file name,
- extension,
- size,
- age in days,
- path.
Finally, for each file, four actions are provided:
- move to trash,
- reveal,
- move to another folder,
- make an alias.
This last action is reserved for the image, videos or music files which are not arranged in the right folders such as Pictures, Movies and Music. This action makes it possible to preserve the file in its folder while creating an alias in the folder of its type.
Home Tidying Up features:
  an easy to use interface,
a way to arrange files in your home,
code written in AppleScript Studio so you can easely add other features.
At the first startup, Home Tidying Up presents a Help window and Preferences window in which you specify the possible folders and/or files to be excluded from analysing using + and - buttons. You can also specify the minimum age in days and the minimum size beyond which you want files listed.
After having entered these elements and closed the Preferences window, analysing of files begins. I found that this can take a long time depending upon the number of files to be examined, so judicious use of folder exclusions is recommended.
Unfortunately, I found that in the Duplicate pane I got a lot of false positives on the Desktop. Not sure why.
However, otherwise, Home Tidying Up seems to work well, and can be a useful free tool to help deal with keeping your files managed.
New in this version:
 Fixed Applescript error -2763

In this new version, the help file is improved and you can resize the file list window.
