The splash screen and user interface window have been redesigned for the new version.
There is now a compression format pull-down menu from which you can choose Stuffit X (default), Stuffit, .tar, and .zip.:

One oddity I noticed is that Stuffit X files compressed in Stuffit DropStuff 9,0 show up with generic icons on my OS 9.2.2 Desktop. With version 8.0.2, the proper icons were supported.
System Requirements
• Mac OS X 10.3 or later.
It is highly recommended that you stay current with Apple's free OS updates. You can do so by going to System Preferences and running "Software Update". As of this writing the latest free update for OS 10.3 is OS 10.3.5.
• At least 64Mb of installed RAM.
• At least 20Mb of available disk space
Version 8.0.2 of StuffIt Standard is still available via download for those using Mac OS 10.1.5 or 10.2.8.
Version 7.0.3 of StuffIt Standard is still available via download for those using Mac OS 8.6 - 9.2.2.
StuffIt Standard is $49.99 demoware. Note that Encryption, Segmenting, and the creation of Self-Extracting files (for Mac Classic and Windows), will be disabled after the trial period. Purchasing a registration number for StuffIt Standard will make these features permanent.
