Xbrand Adjustable Height Laptop Stand with 360° Rotation

You will be surprised by the remarkable increase in comfort when you raise your display and bring it closer to your eyes with a laptop stand. You will also improve the cooling of your computer and benefit from a more comfortable and productive keyboard and mouse. This easily-adjustable laptop stand offers four height/tilt positions so every user can configure it to reduce the head, neck, and back strain commonly associated with laptop computer use. In the lowest position, the laptop retainer ledge folds down if you need to access a CD or diskette drive on the front edge of your laptop. It even rotates 360° on hidden rollers for multi-user viewing. Requires an external keyboard and mouse (not included). The USB model serves as an integrated port replicator by providing four very accessible USB 2.0 high-speed ports.

Or make even more room and increase your comfort and productivity by getting an ergonomic keyboard and an adjustable keyboard tray.

If you often travel and take your laptop with you, consider getting the Kinesis NoteStand laptop stand. It is very thin, very light, and very elegant. And it also does a great job of elevating the screen and bringing it closer to your eyes, as well as keeping your laptop cool and protecting it from those dreaded liquid spills.

This is a great place to use a laptop stand. If you are going to spill something, do it on your separate keyboard or mouse, not directly on your expensive laptop! If you are just browsing and not typing, you won't even need a separate keyboard, but you may want to get one of our wireless mice.

At work and on the road:

If you are one of those many people who now use a laptop at work as your primary computer, you definitely need a laptop stand. The USB model of the Xbrand Laptop Stand is an ideal choice for comfort, productivity, and flexibility. You may also want to consider our affordable generic port replicator or one of our wireless mice.

If you need to travel with your laptop and only have the budget for one laptop stand, by all means get the NoteStand. It does a great job in the office, but due to its thinness and light weight, it really shines when you are travelling and need a laptop stand in your hotel room or off-site office.

Announcing SiteRefresh 6: Enterprise Search, Web Services, Enhanced Macintosh Support, and Countless Improvements

Refresh Software Corp., the leader in Core Content Management, announced the June 17, 2005 release of SiteRefresh® 6 including a Web Services interface and brand-new customer- driven features.

In traditional Refresh style, SiteRefresh 6 continues its heritage of providing Core Content Management Tools for Web application development. SiteRefresh's revolutionary Content Repository now offers Web Services features for inclusion in the latest Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA). Further broadening the platform, SiteRefresh also supports the popular Firefox browser, extending access to Macintosh and non-IE users. New enterprise features include an expanded search interface with the capability of managing large deployments and thousands of assets.

"With the high content management project failure rate, organizations are becoming very aware that choosing the proper Web ecosystem architecture is critical for success. Organizations that implement other Content Management Systems face significant challenges in terms of openness and scalability. SiteRefresh avoids these architectural problems with open access to the content repository; thus, eliminating integration problems that lead to unjustifiable support, implementation, and ongoing maintenance costs," said J Graham Zahoruiko, President and CEO -- Refresh Software.

"With Refresh Software's deep roots in Web architecture design, development, and deployment -- combined with our software engineering expertise, SiteRefresh is a very clear choice for organizations who really care about laying the proper groundwork for content management success," added Zahoruiko.

Refresh's product roadmap is purely driven by customer demand, and these relationships establish the company's direction. The enhanced search interface, in-context editing, and extended browser support are examples of Refresh's agility in responding to customer needs.

"SiteRefresh provides an unmatched level of sophistication, robust technology, and value for the content management marketplace. SiteRefresh's low footprint allows installation in hours, minimal disruption to existing infrastructure, and successful deployments in weeks," said James N. Gonthier - - Chief Technology Officer.

"Our component approach allows SiteRefresh to be deployed in any existing architecture and for any Web application using any technology. The SiteRefresh Content Repository, accessible via Web Services, allows SiteRefresh to be used for a multitude of enterprise applications, using SiteRefresh as the central repository for a unified content strategy," added Gonthier.

SiteRefresh delivers the safest content management architectural approach with the latest J2EE Core architecture including Web Services value priced at $24,995. This superior model and feature set is available in SiteRefresh 6 at a fraction of the cost of today's legacy end-to-end Content Management middleware Systems.

"This release furthers our commitment to published standards and interoperability through support of Web Services and Firefox. Applications in an SOA environment can now take advantage of our robust content management services, allowing them to be developed faster while offering novel features," said Keenan Ross, Vice President of Engineering -- Refresh Software.

McAfee Offers Businesses Centrally Managed Security Protection for Macintosh Use

McAfee, Inc. has announced the availability of McAfee Virex 7.6 for Macintosh, offering small to large businesses centrally-managed virus protection for their Macintosh OS X systems.  The new functionality includes an agent that communicates with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), for centralized system security policy configuration and enforcement, and detailed reporting that enables enterprises to efficiently and cost-effectively manage their Virex-protected clients.

With McAfee Virex, enterprise users can implement real-time prevention of viruses, worms, Trojans and other malicious code threats.  McAfee Virex is easily controlled and monitored through McAfee ePO, a centralized management system designed specifically for small-to-medium businesses or large distributed enterprises.  With McAfee ePO, IT administrators have the visibility and control they need to configure their system security policy, evaluate their security status and customize reports to fit their specific needs.

“Many organizations today have a mixed computing environment including Macintoshes, and McAfee is committed to supporting these heterogeneous system security requirements,” said Steve Crutchfield, director of product marketing for McAfee, Inc.  “With the addition of the ePO agent to McAfee Virex 7.6, IT administers can manage all their McAfee system security solutions from one central interface, saving time and money as well as ensuring a consistent security policy across all computers.”

McAfee Virex utilizes the award-winning McAfee scan engine for complete, proactive virus protection for Macintosh systems, stopping virus and malicious code threats, including hidden threats buried in archives and other compressed file types.  McAfee Virex 7.6 includes real time “active” scanning, automatic scanning of mounted drives, scheduling options for on-demand scans and automatic updating. In addition, McAfee Virex employs generic detection which involves using a single virus definition to detect and clean many variants of the same virus family.  This is especially useful today, when a successful threat can be followed by a host of variants.

Apple Bonjour for Windows

Bonjour, also known as zero-configuration networking, enables automatic discovery of computers, devices, and services on IP networks. Bonjour uses industry standard IP protocols to allow devices to automatically discover each other without the need to enter IP addresses or configure DNS servers.

System requirements
Bonjour requires Windows 2000/2003 or Windows XP. Make sure you have the latest Service Pack installed for your computer using Windows Update.

Bonjour is a networking protocol that sends and receives network packets on UDP port 5353. If you have a firewall enabled, you will need to ensure that UDP port 5353 is open for Bonjour to work correctly. Certain firewalls will only partially block Bonjour packets, so if you experience intermittent behavior, check the firewall settings and verify that Bonjour is listed as an exception and is allowed to receive incoming connections. Bonjour will configure the Windows firewall appropriately during installation on Windows XP Service Pack 2 and above.

Bonjour for Windows includes a plugin to discover advertised HTTP servers using Internet Explorer. Click the Bonjour icon in the Internet Explorer toolbar to enable Bonjour browsing. If you have Bonjour devices on your local network with embedded HTTP (Web) servers, they will appear in the list.

The Bonjour Printer Wizard is also included and allows Windows computers to print to Bonjour networked printers, including USB shared printers connected to the AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express Base Stations. Since Apple first launched Bonjour in 2002, every major maker of network printers has adopted Bonjour. With the Bonjour Printer Wizard, computers using Windows can also experience the benefits of effortlessly discovering and printing to these Bonjour printers.

Known Issues
A small number of Virtual Private Network (VPN) clients interfere with Bonjour. If you find that you can no longer discover network services or print to Bonjour shared printers, try logging out of VPN.

The Bonjour Printer Wizard will only discover printers being shared by the Mac OS X "Printer Sharing" feature when the Macintosh is running Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or later.

System Requirements
— Windows 2000 or later
— Windows XP
— 300MHz Pentium class PC or higher
— 128MB of RAM or higher recommended
— Network connectivity
— Latest Windows Service Pack Recommmended

More information
Bonjour is commonly installed by third-party software to provide zero-configuration networking capabilities to various applications. If your version of Bonjour does not include the IE plugin or Printer Wizard mentioned above, and you would like these features, you can download the complete Bonjour for Windows package from Apple's web site by visiting
http://www.apple.com.macosx/features/bonjour
