Move over XM, Talk Radio for iPhone adds NPR, Hartmann, and more

2047 Juicy Development LLC has released version 2.0 of Talk Radio for iPhone. Talk Radio takes advantage of the built in Core Location technology in the iPhone or iPod touch to quickly identify where and when your favorite talk show is available. Talk Radio adds over 100 additional audio streams, including streams from National Public Radio, Thom Hartman, Bill O'Reilly and the Midnight Trucking Radio Network.

At the requests of customers and radio networks, Talk Radio has added Thom Hartmann, one of the most listened to progressive talk show hosts in the nation, and NPR with stations ranging from New York to Hawaii. Other recent additions include the Midnight Trucking Radio Network and Bill O'Reilly.

Product manager David Kyle said "We have had so much interest from users, hosts, and radio networks, that we are having a hard time keeping up with the requests. Just this week, we received several emails from our customers that said they are replacing their XM subscriptions with our app. To say it is exciting is an understatement!"

Talk Radio is a learning application and maintains an active database of user corrections or newly collected host and station information. The application automatically updates all users with up to the minute data each time they run the application.

Talk Radio with online streaming and a directory of local non streaming stations is the perfect companion for truck drivers, business travelers, vacationers or anyone wanting to find entertaining and educational programming away from home.

Developed by Juicy Development, Talk Radio takes advantage of the built in Core Location technology in the iPhone or iPod touch to quickly identify where and when your favorite talk show is available. Talk Radio fans will never have to miss their favorite host or worry about being bored while on the road again.

"We view applications like Talk Radio as the future of radio industry and are excited to be part of a growing movement in the industry. With Talk Radio a user can listen to their favorite show anywhere in the country. If a show wants to be added, all they have to do is contact us and we can work out the details." said Kyle. The next version of Talk Radio is expected to allow users to add their own hosts and programs. All future upgrades are expected to be free to existing customers.

Talk Radio is available now in the Apple iTunes store for only $2.99 (USD) and works on iPhone or iPod touch. Requires 2.0 software update.
