Press release edited by Applelinks senior editor Kirk Hiner
Independent game and software company, Midori, has announced the release of a new game called Ladybugs, developed for Mac OS X. Specifically designed with small children in mind, Ladybugs takes warm and inviting colors and combines them with three activities focusing on goal-oriented games. These activities were created to stimulate the child's spatial thinking and to encourage color recognition abilities and practice.
In addition to the mind challenging activities, also taken into consideration is a healthy introduction to racing against an opponent. This activity in Ladybugs puts a child into a race against another ladybug to find his/her home quicker than the other, for a lively, fun dose of toddler competition. Another activity places the child in a colorful garden maze in search of the "home" exit. Lastly, the third activity places the child "ladybug" in a garden with different color homes, and the task is for the player to guide his/her ladybug to the correct matching-color house.
Wrapping up the games in a tidy package are the playful sound effects, music and bright graphics, perfect for attracting the young, inquiring mind.
A free demo version of the game, Ladybugs, is available to download at the Midori website. Ladybugs is available to purchase online for $9.95.
