Developer Lyle Andrews traded stocks while running a software company specializing in web application development during the dot.com boom, before taking a professional sabbatical to travel and work on personal projects. "I always thought of the stock market as sort of a landscape of stock price graphs all laid out next to each other," he says. "I wanted to be able to see that with actual data, so many times I'd hear about a stock having a great run after the fact. I wanted an easy way to see those who are really rising above the herd so I could catch them earlier. Without an easy way to see very large numbers of stocks its sort of like being blind, there are some things you just miss. Being able to see entire sectors and markets and interact with the way you see them literally adds a new dimension to how you think about this stuff.
I also had certain questions, such as 'how do news articles and historical events affect stock price movements, do some stocks parallel each other, what companies' stocks affect each other.' I wanted a way to do all this inexpensively and go beyond what I could do with looking at charts and articles on the web. I wanted to be able to look at a stock in the 3D view and then go right to see the same stock on any financial research website with just 1 click to speed up the research process enormously. I also wanted a place to store all the news articles I wanted to save about particular stocks, organized by stock, as bookmarks in my web browser just wasn't doing it for me. Finally, I was tired of being deluged with advertising when looking at stock charts."
MetaView accomplishes all this and much more. MetaView comes with a screensaver so you can monitor markets when the computer is idle and has a speech synthesis feature to provide you with customized audio market reports on demand. MetaView also provides a place to store and organize your research notes by stock. Get an edge on the crowd with MetaView.
