Mariner Software, developers and publishers of professional and personal software, today announced an agreement made with Advenio Software to republish the industry-recognized recipe and wine management software for Mac OS X, MacGourmet. The product will make its public debut under the Mariner brand with a major update, MacGourmet Deluxe, in June 2008. MacGourmet Deluxe is the latest release in Mariner Software's award-winning line of personal creativity software.

Often called the "iTunes for Recipes," MacGourmet brings recipe organization into the 21st century. Users can create and edit recipes, make wine and cooking notes, easily browse an entire recipe collection, as well as build custom lists for categories like appetizers or desserts. Users can even publish recipes to .Mac or personal blogs. Easily import recipes found on the web and add to individual collections. Like the "feel" of a recipe card? MacGourmet can print on index cards too. Even export shopping lists to various PDAs.

New in MacGourmet Deluxe:

  • Menu planner functionality that adds week-based meal planning, meal planner and menu printing.
  • iCal integration.
  • Nutritional database analysis.
  • All-new shopping list editor with simple pantry/favorites and column ordering/hiding functionality added.
  • Widescreen mode now has new mouse- over popups that display more information.
  • And much more...

"We have been talking about entering this market for quite some time," said Michael Wray, President of Mariner Software. "Gourmet cooking and wine collection are two interests loved by millions, and MacGourmet is easily the best solution out there to organize and simplify these hobbies. We are elated to be working with Advenio and look forward to bring a different element of computing fun to the kitchen with MacGourmet Deluxe."

"I'm really excited about the partnership between Mariner and Advenio," said Michael Dupuis, Founder of Advenio Software. "Mariner already has a great line-up of products, and adding MacGourmet Deluxe will allow it to get into many new markets - ones that weren't accessible before."

MacGourmet Deluxe will be available, for sale and trial, in June on the Mariner Software website at www.marinersoftware.com and various retail outlets. The shipping version will initially be offered in English and sell for $49.95USD ($44.95 download). Existing MacGourmet users will be eligible for a special upgrade path. Support for more languages is expected in the near future. MacGourmet Deluxe requires Mac OS 10.4 or higher. The standard version of MacGourmet will continue to be available for purchase on the Advenio web site.
