"The DS-2300 is an update of the DS-2000, which we certified some time ago,," said MacSpeech Chief Evangelist Chuck Rogers. "The DS-2300 is an excellent choice for customers who require the convenience of a full-featured digital recorder at a reasonable price."
Users must have the MacSpeech TranscriptionPak, which is available separately, installed along with the iListen application in order to use an iPod for transcription. Also, there must be only one speaker on the recording, the speaker must have a trained profile in iListen and speak his or her punctuation.
To celebrate the certification of the Olympus DS-2300, MacSpeech is offering the TranscriptionPak at a discount of $10 off its normal $75 price. The offer is good through December 31, 2007 and customers must enter "TRANSPAK_10" into the Coupon Code field while checking out of the MacSpeech online store to receive the discount.
MacSpeech offers several iListen packages, including a software only solution for $99, and a software and headset with microphone for $149. The optional TranscriptionPak is available for and additional $75. Both iListen and the TranscriptionPak are available from the MacSpeech web site. The Olympus DS-2300 is available immediately from the MacSpeech online store for $249 for the digital recorder alone, or for $429 in a bundle with iListen, the iListen TranscriptionPak, and a MacSpeech-certified microphone.
MacSpeech is celebrating its ten year anniversary throughout 2007.
