Macfun.com offers new games, free Macworld Hall of Fame game
Freeverse has announced the release of three new games for the Macfun.com game portal: Chocolatier 2, the sequel to the popular confectionary game; Electropy, an action title with a twist; and 5 Realms of Cards, a revolutionary new solitaire game. Free demos of all games are available for download from the website. Freeverse also announced they are again giving away free copies of the puzzle game, Reaction, in celebration of its recent induction into the 2007 Macworld Game Hall of Fame.
On the Chocolatier 2 journey, you will need to rise up in the industrial age of innovation and seek out secret ingredients to create rich new recipes. For fans of Chocolatier, Chocolatier 2 picks up 40 years later, offering enhanced game play, new ports and characters, and a new, in-depth story that will once again make you hungry for Trinidadian Carmel Truffles. For players new to the world of Chocolatier, Chocolatier 2 is a wonderful entry point into simulation as a master chocolatier where you can travel to remote locations to buy, sell, make and drool over sweet confections.
Electropy is a side scrolling action arcade title with a fundamental gameplay twist. Rather than directly moving your character, the idea is to grapple on to floating polygons in order to swing your way to the goal. The game features a wide selection of power-ups such as gravity change, invincibility, and flight thrusters to diversify gameplay. The title also includes over 125 levels of varying difficulty, as well as the same fully functional editor used to make all the levels in the game. Players are ranked via online scores that are uploaded through the game and can download replays of any submitted score.
5 Realms of Cards is nothing like an ordinary solitaire game; it's visually appealing, story-driven and features an addictive new game mechanic. The game begins in the land of five card realms, where a malevolent force has awakened after a 100-year slumber, plunging the realms into darkness. This is where you step in. Your objective is to help a young princess named Jokerine restore peace and beauty by recovering magic Signs of Suits broken by evil forces. To achieve this goal, you must go through 5 realms and 72 levels full of addictive, solitaire playing fun.
Reaction, part of Freeverse's Big Bang Brain Games suite (see the Applelinks review, is a puzzle game where you need to pop molecules in the least amount of clicks. The game seems deceptively easy, but requires clever planning. Designed to stimulate your cerebellumwith stunning graphics and witty charactersthe Big Bang Brain Games are truly a "Best of Class" experience, and were recently awarded a spot in Macworld Magazine's Game Hall of Fame.
