Mac mini In An SE/30

A Japanese Mac enthusiast, who may be named Kaede Sakura, has succeeded in grafting a Mac mini into a Mac SE/30 case.

If you're not familiar with the old compact Macs, the SE/30 was the cream of the crop, with the 16 MHz 68030 (plus math coprocessor) power of a Mac IIx stuffed inside the case of the original Mac 512k and Plus.

Anyway, the Japanese site says:

We prepared MacMINI, case of Mac SE/30 and 9 inch gray scale monitor.

We did not use original monitor and analog board because it can only display black and white.

We used 9 inch Gray Scale cathode-ray tube moniter made by the TVS company.
TVS(TAIWAN VIDEO SYSTEM) CCTV moniter series B/W CCTV ==> 9" B/W

This CRT has the input terminal of RGB.

The size of this CRT and the position of the hole have fit MacSE/30.

We took out and used the cathode-ray tube and the circuit board from this CRT.

To connect monitor we used normal VGA adaptor.

I got a lot of opinions that you should use the LDC panel than the gray scale cathode-ray tube.

We thought that the gray scale suited the atmosphere of SE/30. However, I understand The color monitor is more practicable.

This is a hypothetical form which has come from my existing use of the hubs I use. I would like some fast switcher - front row like key easy touch screen system which could double for monitoring the network and other systems while the media is playing I don't fancy another smaller monitor for that reason. I like my granddaughters small screen DVD portable which they can view DVD's on and not go to full screen.

I have been viewing a hypothetical PC Tower modular concept that could be built as an Environmental Economic Modular Form Factor one off.

The key is low wattage and multiple functions Eco type. But of course Apples brilliant designers may have already come up with new systems which will solve the requirements I have seen for dwelling and living room connectivity solutions?

Who knows what wonders await us the the next two years but one could argue that there are PC's and post PC devices but what about the hybrid devices that are not mobile and are not full PC's yet are static and could be modular form factors.

In this area as a device the Mac mini is a great concept and I hope this low cost multi purpose modular type of system continues... well here's hoping? Well I could switch to another form of hub that does what I want as a PC.....

Thinking in 3D for modular extensible add ons in a Mac mini ecosystem.

This Open Design Concept is already in use with the Mac mini and its extendible modules. So why not go modular in a new 3D extendible way. Vertical is the way to go but also stackable arrays and end up with composites of modules one can end up with a stack of modules which may amount to a mini tower but in a different way.

Why doesn't Apple extend its modular concept of Apple TV and Mac mini into a Mac mini/TV Tower assembly form factor and allow customer assembly options for modules of form factor desire and determination. OK! the modules are different so why not go for a 7.7" module as one base and a 6.5" as another base. One for multi media and one for more core PC functions. Each forming relational functional PC systems. For example if you wanted gaming, why would you not choose a stackable module that is able to be clipped together with a form of inserts of other modules that suit so that once a mini tower is locked into its form factor then it becomes a sealed system and warranted system.

Assembly is a form of stacking in the building industry and I have in my time built concrete modules with many different functional spaces together.
