Mac mini Gets the Boot (Camp)
The Washington Times' Mark Kellner reports:
Apple is right when it says you should print out the installation instructions that come with Boot Camp, and follow those instructions carefully. With Boot Camp, reading the instructions is not an option.
Having spent the better part of an entire evening on what should have been a one-hour process, I can report that Windows XP will run on an Intel-powered Mac, in my case a new-just-out-of-the-box Mac Mini. The Mini is a nice little computer, with an 80-gigabyte hard disk drive and 1 gigabyte of RAM, as well as an Intel Core Duo processor.
The installation process was delayed in part because I had to update both the operating system on the Mac Mini and its "firmware," the software embedded in the computer's hardware. I then had one hiccup with the Windows installation -- a mistyped character when entering the Windows product key -- and had to go to lengths to undo the damage.

Intel-based Mac mini CPU upgrade guide
maconintel.com reports:
Someone has put together a handy pictorial guide to upgrading the CPU in your Intel-based Mac mini to a higher-end Core Duo. 2.16GHz anyone?
Having just taken apart my dead G3 iBook to salvage parts, I can tell you that the drill shown in this guide could definitely be a whole lot worse. That said, this is a process not for the feint of heart. Take care!

Mac minis - Dual Digital Hub Simply Amazing. A growing age of Digital Reason.
Using a Mac mini (intel) as a Digital Resource.
A Fantastic Experience!
Mini Ture_MacJournal's Darryl says:
"My guess is my learning curve now with Ethernet and wireless now firmly set in my digital living room, expansion will be a lot easier. All of my facility targets have been set now and it will be a very interesting three year cycle. Lots to write about at the digital media front and also at the iDomicile front of the 'T' Wave. 'T' = Digital Technology, or if some like verbosity the 'DT' Wave."

Mac mini Hacks & Mods for Dummies Reviewed
Low End Mac says:
One of my most treasured "classic" books is How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive - A Manual of Step by Step Procedures for the Compleat Idiot. This book was written by John Muir (no, not that John Muir) and first published in 1969.
The author defined an "idiot", for the purposes of the book, as someone who knows nothing mechanically. It was targeted at people who were unknowledgeable but could see the value in performing virtually all of the required repairs to their air-cooled Beetles and busses.
I used the book, which was written in hippie speak, to rebuild engines and do countless other repairs. Although I no longer have a VW, I keep this motor-oil-stained book on the shelf with my other classics. It's the standard by which I measure all other "how to" books.
I enthusiastically accepted the job of reviewing Mac mini Hacks & Mods for Dummies, when our editor, Dan Knight, offered it to me. I'm a huge fan of this minuscule Mac but know very little about its inner workings.
I'm very aware of its shortcomings, so I have the willingness to try to improve it. I have performed hardware and software hacks on Macs in the past, so clearly I have an interest in that area as well.

Another Mac Mini Core Duo CPU Upgrade (Swap) Guide (2.16GHz Core Duo)
xlr8yourmac.com says:
There's been several articles on Intel Mini CPU swaps (up to 2.16GHz) in the last few months (some not in English though). Today a reader (Tommy) sent a note he's posted an Mac Mini Intel Core Duo 2.16GHz CPU Upgrade Guide with step-by-step photos. (Linked page in English, but top of page has link to a copy in Italian.)
Granted current costs of the 2.16GHz CPU are nearly (US) $700, so most wouldn't put that much $$$ into a Mini, but over time prices will fall. (I hope Apple doesn't stop socketing the Intel based Mini and iMac CPUs in the future...)
