But those who downloaded the fonts got an e-mail from the font company today, telling them that there may be problems with the program and the typefaces, and saying, in a roundabout way, that it's not their fault.
Dear Customer,
we are very happy that you downloaded the Linotype font package.
Unfortunately Quark 6.5 has an incompatibility with some of the fonts contained in the free download package, although these are strictly standard. We have therefore updated the free font package so that the fonts will work with Quark 6.5, but will be treated as
normal OpenTypes by all other applications.
In order to get the update, just go to quark.fonts.net and log in. Then click on "Previous Orders" - here you will find all your purchases. Just repeat the download of the free font package and replace the old fonts with the new ones. That should do the trick.
We are very sorry about this inconvenience, and beg your pardon.
Very Sincerely Yours,
Jens Konrad

Note that Linotype defends their fonts as "strictly standard," which seems to imply that the problem exists within Quark 6.5. Yet Linotype changed their fonts, rahter than Quark issuing a bug fix.
