Kindling, Part 5

901 In the final instalment of his 5-part Less Tangible series, Marc Zeedar continues his look at Amazon's new Kindle ebook reader and service:
iPhone = Kindle Killer
For me, Apple's iPhone is the answer to the ereader. Granted the screen is not book-size, but it's extremely readable. Even small text is comfortable and you can always zoom in. With a well-designed ereader application (no doubt coming soon when the iPhone API is released in early 2008), the iPhone kicks the Kindle's butt. I don't say this without experience, either: I've read a ton of stuff on my iPhone and it's one of the main things I do with it, in fact. While I don't read novels, per se, I do read blogs and emails. There's some annoying inconsistency because things come from different sources and the formatting varies, but in general the iPhone is a wonderful reader. I can't wait for a real ereader app or a way to store PDFs on the iPhone. (I love browsing blogs while watching TV as I can get two things done at once.)
