According to website founder, James Falconer, the contest is a great way for people to become familiar with the site and participate in its forum community. "The goal at Mactropolis is to build a unique, global community of mac experts and enthusiasts. The site features the latest news and commentary on Mac and Apple products, blogs, forums and a number of other useful features" he says. "But we also want to make the site a truly interactive one and present as many voices as we can; voices that provide us not only with the latest news from around the Mac world, but also a variety of opinions and comments. The forum is the best way members to become involved and this contest is a great incentive for people to sign up."
Falconer, who is also a graphic designer and marketing consultant for many businesses around the world, founded the site in October, 2007. The site features a number of download options - everything from iPhone wallpapers to icons to ringtones - and brings readers the latest mac-related news and views, both pro and con, from around the globe.
"The new iPhone is a hot commodity and the opportunity to win one is a great motivation to get involved and join in the debate" says Falconer. "Also if you win and your country of residence does not have the iPhone available, Mactropolis.com will gladly give you an equal credit at the Apple store or if your country of residence is due to get the iPhone in the near future, we will wait and purchase the phone for you on your behalf once it becomes available."
The contest runs until July 11, 2008. Existing members of the site are not excluded from the competition; by making a forum entry they too are also entered into the draw. Winners will be randomly drawn and announced at 12PM CST on July 11. For more information on the contest or Mactropolis visit the site or contact James directly.
