iWisdom is a program that manages a collection of quotations or other brief insights. The program tracks a rich set of data fields concerning each bit of wisdom, including author, source, year of publication, title and category. iWisdom allows you to view wisdom in a list view (with optional sort fields), a category view, an edit view, and a display mode, which you can use to randomly display a new quotation at set intervals. iWisdom stores its data in the wisdom XML format, and can publish a wisdom collection in HTML using a series of included XSL templates and cascading style sheets.
A sample of the results can be seen at:

New in version 1.5.1:
Each item is now assigned a unique ID number when it is added to a collection. When publishing a collection to a Web site, a shortcut file is generated for each item in the collection, with each shortcut file redirecting to the actual HTML file at the longer URL location. The shortcut file is designed to provide a shorter URL that can be used to reference a Wisdom item.
Added the ability to export a collection into the Markdown text format.
Corrected a problem with proper spacing after use of embedded inline HTML within a paragraph
iWisdom is written in Java and is available for all major computing platforms, including Mac OS X, Windows, and virtually all versions of Unix. A fully functional version of the program can be downloaded from the PowerSurge Publishing Web site, at:

iWisdom is freeware.

Note that this version 1.50 release is a substantial revision, with the added ability to drag and drop a text file of quotations, which will cause the file to be imported automatically. Developer Herb Bowie tels me that while not all quotations will be imported, I've tried to enhance the software to recognize as much information as possible. This sounds like it addresses the main criticism I had in my review of the earlier version.
See the company Web site for further information.
