Smule ( http://www.smule.com ), creator of the popular Ocarina and Leaf Trombone: World Stage applications for the iPhone, and the San Francisco Symphony are launching an online sweepstakes today, along with a new "Smule" user group on the Symphony's new social network at community.sfsymphony.org. This partnership pairs one of the most tech-forward orchestras with the one of the world's leading developers of music applications for the iPhone.
To celebrate the Symphony's Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy performance, the sweepstakes offers Symphony fans the opportunity to win prizes like concert tickets to the Distant Worlds show, iPod touches, Zipcar vouchers and Smule applications. To enter the sweepstakes, simply join the San Francisco Symphony's Social Network at http://community.sfsymphony.org and join the Smule Group sometime between June 30th and July 15th.
After the concert, Smule will host an Ocarina Master Class featuring Smule's Turner Kirk. Contest winners and other concert attendees are invited to learn Ocarina tips and techniques, and to play along with fellow musicians on their iPhones or iPod Touches in the first Ocarina Orchestra.
