IDX Renditioner supports large renderings of up to 16 mega-pixels (4096 x 4096 pixels). In addition, IDX Renditioner supports multi-threading and can take advantage of multi-CPU machines such as the new 8-Core Mac Pro.
``IDX Renditioner absolutely flies on the new multi-core Macs," says: Bob Mayer, Chief Operating Officer.
Users have multiple environmental settings for twilight, moonlight, daylight, clear skies, hazy, or cloudy conditions. And, users can more fully control the balance between natural and artificial lighting effects to create exactly the atmosphere they desire.
"Renderings are stunning," added Mayer. "To go from something that was obviously computer-generated to near-photographic quality so quickly and easily is mind-boggling."
IDX Renditioner supports either Mac OS/X 10.4 or 10.5 on the PowerPC or Intel-based Mac machines. It is expected to ship by the end of January. A Windows version is expected to be available in February. Price is US$199 and will be available from the IDX website at http://www.idx-design.com. Demonstrations of IDX Renditioner can be seen at IMSI/Design's Macworld Booth #2611.
