This week on iGame Radio, the original Mac game podcast, host Omaha Sternberg completes coverage of the casual gaming conference Casual Connect 2007 in the third of a multi-part series. Coverage includes interviews with Tom Higgins of Unity3D's Over the Edge, Jim Greer of Kongregate, Dave Dunham of GameHouse, and Dave Bernstein of Sandlot Games. Listeners can catch all three podcasts covering the conference for the past three weeks at MacRadio.com.
Over the Edge, usually called OTEE, develops Unity3D, a game engine geared for the small team. Having just announced Unity 2.0, Omaha chats with Tom Higgins, product evangelist for the company, about the Unity 3D engine, the features Unity provides, and what we'll see from Unity 2.0.
Kongregate is an example of the next generation of gaming portals. Providing access to gameplay as well as socializing, contests, and much more, Omaha talks with Jim Greer, co-founder of Kongregate, about what the site has to offer and what is coming next.
Dave Dunham is development manager of GameHouse, a division of the RealArcade Network specializing in games for the Mac. Originally an Indie Mac game house, GameHouse was picked up by RealNetworks in 2004. Omaha chats with Dave about what kind of changes GameHouse has experienced since that time.
Sandlot Games is best known for their well-known game Cake Mania. Omaha sat down (in a hallway, no less) with CEO and founder Dave Bernstein to talk about how the company has been doing, the future of the Cake Mania franchise, and Sandlot's commitment to Mac gaming.
Omaha will also offer Mac gaming news, commentary, and a selection of music from popular Mac games.
All three shows are available as a podcast or streaming MP3 on MacRadio.com and iGameRadio.com, where listeners will also find archives of past broadcasts. QuickTime 5 and above, or iTunes 4.9 or other MP3 enabled software (such as iPodderX), are required for access to the podcasts and MP3 stream. Listeners can also subscribe to both the basic and enhanced podcast through the iTunes Music Store, and other popular podcast portal sites.
