Aspyr Media has announced that Homeworld 2 for the Mac has gone gold and is expected to begin shipping at the end of September.
The Hiigarans and their leader Karan S'jet may have been looking forward to years of peace once they finally reached their Homeworld of Hiigara, but that was not their destiny. Homeworld 2 follows the journey of the Hiigarans as they travel to the oldest regions of the galaxy in their Mothership, The Pride of Hiigara, to confront a tremendous enemy from the ancient corners of the galaxy and discover the truth behind their exile.
Homeworld 2 requires Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later, a PowerPC G4 or G5, 800MHz or faster, 256MB RAM (512 recommended), 1.0GB of free disk space, 3D graphics acceleration (ATI Radeon 7500/nVidia GeForce 2 or better), 32MB of video ram (VRAM) and an 8X CD-ROM. Internet and LAN (TCP/IP) play is supported, is but is Mac to Mac only. Internet play requires a 56Kbps or faster connection.
