"Grocery iQ solves a pervasive, real-world problem: How to easily create and manage shopping lists that you will never leave at home," said Steven Boal, the Chief Executive for Grocery iQ. "It's simple and, at the same time, powerful. Grocery iQ is shopping list genius."
Touted as the best grocery list application by the New York Times (July 9, 2009) and currently a "Staff pick," Grocery iQ recently has been a Top 25 paid iPhone application and is frequently the No. 1 paid Lifestyle application in the App Store.
New Features, 2.0
Version 2.0 offers new features, including:
Barcode scanning – Using the iPhone camera, shoppers can scan barcodes on product packaging to automatically add an item to their shopping list. No writing or typing required! Grocery iQ integrates RedLaser barcode-reading technology from Occipital, so users get the superior recognition technology that proves accurate on even hard-to-read product packaging.
Integration of coupons – Grocery iQ now includes coupons from Coupons.com, and users can browse and select from hundreds of offers. Users can then print the coupons wirelessly to select HP printers or send the coupons to an email address for printing later. Grocery iQ also offers Save to Card coupons, which are virtual coupons that are loaded directly to grocery store loyalty cards. Save to Card offers are automatically redeemed at checkout - without clipping.
Synchronized list sharing – With synchronized list sharing, multiple users can share a single shopping list. If someone is on the way to the store or even already there, no problem—users can add a last-second item to a Grocery iQ list at home and the item is automatically updated on the shared list. Or, split up in the store and get the shopping done twice as fast.
Print directly from the iPhone – Grocery iQ enables users to print coupons directly to select HP printers connected to their wireless network.
"Grocery iQ is already one of my favorite apps," says Jeremy Brashear, a Grocery iQ user in Denver, CO. "Now, it just might be my favorite. The new barcode reading not only makes adding items to my list faster, it's actually fun. And, with list sharing, my wife and I can share the same list that is automatically synchronized. We love Grocery iQ."
Version 2.0 builds on the popular features of previous versions, including the ability to: create one or more lists for multiple chains or store locations; add items to shopping lists by simply entering the first few letters of a brand or product; save item details like price, location in the store and quantity; add commonly purchased products to an easy-to-access list for quickly creating new lists in the future; and automatically arrange items based on the aisle layout of the local grocery store.
Grocery iQ Pricing and Availability
Version 2.0 is free to download for current Grocery iQ users and is 99 cents for new users. Grocery iQ is easily found by searching the iTunes App Store for "coupons.com." Grocery iQ 2.0 requires OS 3.1 or higher. Versions of Grocery iQ for Android phones and other mobile operating systems are in development and are planned for release in the future.
