Getting Things Done Work-Life Management System to Mac and iPhone Users

1807 The Omni Group has announced a partnership with The David Allen Company, founded by David Allen, bestselling author of "Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity." The companies will be working together to support the Getting Things Done methodology through the Omni Group's popular task management application, OmniFocus. Directly inspired by the GTD methodology, OmniFocus is an innovative personal productivity solution for the Mac, iPhone and iPod touch.

Their first collaborative information resource is a white paper called "OmniFocus, GTD, and You: Implementing the Getting Things Done Methodology with OmniFocus." This 19-page report explores the implementation of the GTD system in OmniFocus.

While no previous understanding of the GTD methodology is required on the reader's part, the white paper gives a thorough explanation of how the concepts of Capture, Process, Organize, Do, and Review are expertly handled in OmniFocus. The white paper is a free download, available from The David Allen Company's website at: http://www.davidco.com/pdfs/GTDandOmniFocus.pdf , and from the Omni Group's website at:

In addition, OmniFocus for Mac is now listed as the recommended Mac GTD solution on The David Allen Company's online store. OmniFocus for iPhone and iPod touch is available from Apple's App Store.

"We're thrilled to be working more closely with The David Allen Company," said Ken Case, CEO of the Omni Group. "David's work on GTD has been a big inspiration for us, and it's been great to work with DavidCo's professional trainers, clarifying both our understanding of GTD and their understanding of how best to implement a GTD workflow in Mac and iPhone environments."

"OmniFocus is a stellar tool for keeping track of outcomes and actions in the Mac environment," said David Allen, bestselling author of Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity. "It supports simple but important practices for keeping your head clear, staying focused, and managing your commitments."

OmniFocus is designed to quickly capture your thoughts and allow you to store, manage, and process them into actionable to-do items. Tasks can be assigned to projects and stored within contexts (for example: "Home", "Work", or "Garden"), with built-in visual cues that highlight the next action you need to take care of. OmniFocus helps you work smarter by giving you powerful tools for staying on track of all the things you need to do.
